Toji, a manager of a food section in a medium-sized department store, has to put up with a tough boss that makes every day a real struggle. But things start to look up for him though when he meets a pretty elevator girl named Nao who is. Just as he is starting to enjoy a new-found happiness at work, a new account manager from an advertising agency visits Toji's division, and it is none other than Toji's ex-girlfriend from university, Makoto. Toji is surprised to see her again but Makoto treats him as if she has never met him before. Now dealing with a tough job and caught in the middle of a jealous Nao and Makoto who dumped him, things couldn't get much worse for Toji!

The story is set in the Qing dynasty during the reign of Emperor Yong Zheng. Yong Zheng's harsh and brutal policies lead to widespread discontent and dissension. Meanwhile, a secret death squad, named after their dreaded weapon — the flying guillotine — goes around slaying the emperor's enemies. The young crown prince, Hong Li, disguises himself as a commoner and embarks on an inspection tour to Jiangnan. Tanimachi Mizuho has big dreams of living in Daikanyama and becoming a famous writer. In the middle of the winter, this strong-willed 26-year-old moves to Tokyo from the snowy countryside. Kenta moved to Tokyo five years ago, and with luck on his side, he became well-known in no time. Kenta and Mizuho are from the same hometown, and were friends growing up, but their friendship never blossomed into anything else. "Hachiko," as Kenta was known as when he was growing up, just goes with the flow and doesn't really have any big aspirations for himself. These two, who aren't having much luck with work or with their love lives, suddenly run into each other one day in Tokyo in the middle of winter. Being 26 is a tough point in life because it's too late to think of new dreams, but on the other hand, it's too late to abandon old ones...

Detective Mok (Dayo Wong) is a very smart detective with a high IQ, but he has asthma and sometimes appears slow and weak. When solving one of his cases, Mok meets insurance agent Wai (Ada Choi). She mistakes him for a pervert who has been photographing women in public toilets, leading to some hilarious misunderstandings. Soon after that case is solved, Wai is accused of shoplifting and then becomes the prime suspect in the murder of her boss. Mok proves her innocence in both cases, but at first she still can't stand him. Later they become friends, but there is still conflict between them because Mok is always broke, so when they go out Wai has to pay. Wai's job is not easy and Romeo (Marco Ngai), the leader of a rival insurance team, makes it a lot harder. Romeo leads the men's team and Wai leads the women's team, and the competition between the men and women never ends. There is constant gossip in the office, which is often overheard by the person being gossiped about. Wai and Mok meet Jim (Michael Tong), a fitness trainer, who is involved in several cases. Jim falls in love with Wai, but Wai likes Mok instead. There are a lot of funny scenes and the cases are always different.

Paul hates Net, the woman who harmed and took the position of his mother, kicked her out of the house causing her to die in pain. 20 years later, Paul returns and finds Net owns the jewelry company owned by him. In revenge, Paul deliberately seduces Net. But Paul falls in love with Naen, the girl Net raised at the suggestion of Paul's father, although she doesn't love Naen. Singkorn is Net's lover, but he has plans for Naen. Singkorn has known Naen for many years and has never given up on his intentions to Naen, which makes Naen feel very awkward.

Lia Lee is Chen Ai Lin, the daughter of the owner of a pastry conglomerate in Taiwan and also Mi En's college best friend, who is in love with Han Xiang.
