Lee Kang Hyun is a manager at a company that sets up people who have been divorced with dates. She meets a divorce attorney, Park Hyun Soo, and they begin a relationship with each other.

Eto Haru and Hayase Riichiro met through fate and got married four years ago. They were happy, but a sad incident led to their divorce after marriage of a mere one year and five months. Although they have been divorced for two year and a half years, Haru and Riichiro continue to be on good terms. They have a strange relationship in which the two of them would have dinner together on their wedding anniversary and sing duets at karaoke. But one night, they happen to meet at a restaurant and a trivial quarrel leads Riichiro to make the sudden, explosive statement, “I’ll find someone for you to remarry!” From then on, Haru introduces a new partner to Riichiro, thinking that the person will make him happy. Riichiro does the same for Haru. All sorts of candidates are introduced: the son of a distinguished family, a single mother, a university associate professor who is living apart from his wife, and a first love. At first, there is a slight clash of wills. And yet, the more the two of them take action, the more they get entangled in the threads of destiny. Each of them moves rapidly towards remarriage while turning a blind eye to the other’s romance. But what is their future … …?

The story revolves around the "Cat Hire House" in the city of Lin'an during the Southern Song Dynasty. The proprietress, Zhang Qiao Er, learned some cat-training techniques from the artisans when she was young. Whenever families in the city needed a cat servant, they would hire a cat from her shop.

Unexpectedly, a major case in the city implicates Zhang Qiao Er, and then she meets Ma Qing Shan, an honest junior constable of Lin'an Prefecture. As the case unfolds, Zhang Qiao Er's other identity gradually emerges. It turns out she is the notorious "Cat Burglar" known among the common folk, and she has been the target of Ma Qing Shan's pursuit all along.

Between their game of cat and mouse, affection blossoms, and eventually, they work together to expose the mastermind behind the scenes, safeguarding the city of Lin'an.

He comes off as aloof and a bit quirky at first, but in fact he has brilliant investigative instincts and spots clues that no one else can detect. Unlike his elite career bureaucrat colleagues, Kinshiro doesn't dress or act like a stereotypical Chief Police. Rather than sitting behind a desk, Kinshiro leaves the office and literally goes around town to do the investigation work, and go the extra mile to solve any crime regardless how small or trivial. However, his unorthodox approach generates a lot of antagonism from his subordinates at Kitamachi Police Station.
