The story revolves around three troubled youths who find solace in their common experiences to become the best family that they can be for each other.

Growing up in dysfunctional households, three individuals who are unrelated by blood treat each other like family as they yearn for the love that they cannot find at home. Eldest brother Ling Xiao, second brother He Ziqiu, and youngest sister Li Jianjian grow up together, experiencing life’s joy and strife as they support each other’s chosen paths.

As Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu graduate from high school, they return to their original families. Five years later, the three are reunited, but the heartaches from their complicated family past becomes a shadow that constantly lingers. Can they finally fix their personal issues to become better versions of themselves?

When Neenara gets her hands on what she thinks is a pebble, she decides to keep it and forgets about it. Little did she know it was actually a priceless rough diamond that belongs to a big mafia boss. When she starts being chased by those who are after the diamond, the only person who can protect her is Nagun, the man who broke her heart three years ago.

Nagun's case requires a believable decoy, so he and Neenara must team up. Their relationship is supposed to end when the case is closed, but Neenara has a few tricks to pull.

Nan Li is an actor who specializes in playing the villainess. One day, she becomes fed up with this kind of role—and the abuse from viewers—so she decides to stop. There, “The Script System” gives her three months to finish her scenes in the script in order to be able to leave the world—or be forever stuck.

Nan Li's mission starts with forcing her “husband” Mu Jing Cheng to sign a divorce agreement—a task that proves quite difficult, since it requires him to give her all his money. What's more, the script seems to control all her lines. Luckily, as she plays out her scenes, she is rewarded with some freedom within the frame of her character’s personality. Despite her many efforts to disappoint him and get him to sign, all strategies fail.

Adaptation of the 2013 hit movie American Dreams in China. Chinese Partner depicts the journey of three male friends from being young and naive university students in the 1990s to becoming lead figures in the IT business.
