Kim Jin Seo and Mo Yoon Hee are high school classmates and rivals whose different family backgrounds shaped their characters and their paths towards love and success in adulthood. This series is about a man, Hong Siu Long who is from 21st century-Hong Kong travels back into the past during the Warring States Period in China. Unfortunately, the time machine comes into an error when he is being transferred into the past. As a result, Hong Siu Long comes to the period which is three years earlier than he is supposed to be and therefore, he can't go back to the future. In an effort to go back to the future, he tries to keep the history goes as it is supposed to be.

Jang Ha Na (Park Han Byul) is the fourth daughter of the eldest son of a family that’s been making soy sauce for hundred of years. She has to dress up like a man because of their financial situation. The family needs a male representative for their soy sauce business. After giving birth to four daughters, they gave up for trying for the male heir and the fourth daughter will just have to pretend to be a boy and act like a son within the family.

One year has passed since Take Seiji became a full time employee at Oetsu Construction. The Take family, having moved into their new home, have been living there peacefully until Sumiko's brother shows up one day while she is out, and Seiji and Ayako discovers that their parents had in fact married despite objection from Sumiko's family.

Also, Manami, in the midst of her internship in Okayama, is coming back to Tokyo for a week, and so Seiji and Manami are finally able to reunite. Manami's father had passed away when she was young and her mother, Sayuri, had remarried since then. Growing up in such an environment, Manami had fostered a complicated relationship with her mother, and because of that the prospect of marriage wasn`t appealing to her.

Seiji, having just started his new life, hadn't really given much thought to marriage, but after meeting Manami's mother, he is shocked to learn how Manami feels about her mother and towards marriage. But one day, on the way home from drinking with the Oetsu Construction members, Seiji and Manami come across an abandoned kitty. After promising to take care of the kitty only until a new owner is found, Manami is able to take care of the kitty at her mother`s home. But, while Manami is out at work, the kitty becomes ill and Manami's mother not knowing what to do contacts Manami and so Seiji decides to take care of the kitty in the meantime. And, the very presence of the kitty becomes a turning point for both the Take family and Manami`s relationship with her mother...

Zhang Hanyan, grows up under the adoption of a humble family. Hanyan is actually the youngest daughter of Jinyutang’s CEO, but she was abandoned by her adopted elder sister Liu Caifan, who feared that her position in the family would be affected. Takeuchi Miharu (Maya Miki) is a capable lawyer with a law firm in Nagoya who gets to handle a divorce case assigned by their head Mizuno Toyohiko (Tachi Hiroshi). Gohara Naoki (Yoshizawa Hisashi), the president of the company, wants to divorce his wife Nobue (Kone Hana) who left their 5-year-old son behind and moved out. Nobue does not want to give up her child. The case seems to complicate Miharu because she had experienced divorce too and was deprived of custody of her daughter Kanae, who she has not seen in 10 years. She hesitantly starts working on the case but gradually gets absorbed in it.

While she is the husband’s attorney, the solution she offers reflects Nobue’s feelings. This offends the client company and the law firm’s advisory contract is terminated. She resigned.

Nobue arrives with the twin sisters. She believes they can count on Miharu who identified with her own divorce issues. Miharu does all in her power to try to pull the twins’ broken family together. She got convinced to start a divorce counselling centre. On the day of the opening of ‘Takeuchi Harumi Divorce Counselling Centre’, a young lady stares at the signboard of the centre with a surly expression. She is Miharu’s daughter, Kanae (Taketomi Seika), who is now an adult.
