2nd House tells a story of a low income, white-collar worker named Koichi, who has a really bad relationship with his wife. Koichi doesn't have a strong status in the family and so he wanted to find a '2nd House'. He then meets up with Aki and they developed a strong love for each other....

It revolves around the relationship between a newbie and her highly temperamental boss that is a source of many misunderstandings and an eventual romance.

As early as in ancient times, humans have been fighting with so called monsters, living and hiding under disguise among them. Thus, mankind and their enemies co-founded an organization, to control both sides. This organization is called the "Mountains and Rivers" or in Chinese "Shan hai Jing of the mountains and rivers".

The heroine, Shinko, is a daring character who doesn't get impressed by power and influence but mercilessly pursues the scoundrels. The drama mainly tells the story of Gu Nuan, an illegitimate daughter of the Gu family, who found out that her boyfriend had cheated on her sister Gu Ling. Her mother was pushed down the stairs by Gu's father and wanted to murder, so she vowed to take back everything that belonged to her. Zhen appears and wants to contract with Gu Nuan to marry. It seems that Gu Nuan wants to take revenge, but Wen Ren Zhen actually hides a secret.

A few months before a law is enacted that requires the recording of all police interrogations, police officers gather at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and they receive instruction on how to treat suspects better. They observe, Yukiko Makabe (Yuki Amami) from the special interrogation team Kintori interrogate a suspect who does not show any signs of remorse. Yukiko Makabe uses sharp words and shows a lack of respect towards the suspect. Due to her behavior, Councilor Reiko Kikuchi orders Yukiko Makabe to train newcomers.

Around this time, Yuta Nomoto, who received a 12 year sentence, escapes while being transferred to prison. He breaks into a house and takes a housewife as a hostage.
