“Startup” is set in South Korea’s fictional Silicon Valley, called Sandbox, and tells the story of people in the world of startup companies.

Seo Dal Mi dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs. She’s an adventurer who doesn’t own much, but has a grand plan for herself. She also has experience in a wide range of part-time jobs and is a person of great vitality.

Nam Do San is the founder of Samsan Tech. He was once the pride of his family as a math genius, but for the past two years, he’s been going nowhere with his company’s investments. It turns out that Seo Dal Mi remembers him as her ‘cool first love’, and he decides to begin a startup in the hope of turning Seo Dal Mi’s misunderstanding into reality.

Han Ji Pyung begins a startup company to pay off his debt. A team leader at SH Venture Capital, his astonishing investment skills and sharp tongue earn him the nickname, “the Gordan Ramsay of investments”. Though he’s prickly to most others, he’s softer than anyone to one special person who granted him a great favor in the past.

Lastly, CEO Won In Jae has everything society respects: the educational background, beautiful appearance, and money. She considers her background as a second generation chaebol a weakness and does everything she can to create success on her own and be acknowledged for her skills. However, she ends up being used and thrown away by her father, and in order to stop being a disposable piece on her father’s chess board, she throws herself into a startup.

Qiu Ke-Yan, a modern pawnbroker, lost a bet to the Cheng Huo-Chang, owner of a traditional pawnshop, and has to work for Huo-Chang for two months, during which they develop a friendship as they debate over the value of pawn items. Loggerheads when they first met, Ke-Yan develops a liking for Huo-Chang's daughter Yi-Cheng, but soon realised that his father has feuds with Huo-Chang.

Molly dreams of being a fashion designer but she has to give up her dreams of being a designer to run her family’s truck business. So will Molly sell the truck business or follow her dreams of being a fashion designer?

Around this time, she happens to see plastic model Zaku at a neighborhood store. Zaku is a robot from TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. She becomes interested in plastic models and challenges herself to make her first plastic model.

Jang Tae San is without any parents, siblings, wife or children. He doesn’t have any money, honor, or a love life. In short, he lives a non-existent life. One day, he finds himself framed for murder and learns about his alter ego at the same time. From that moment on, his world radically changes. This TV series is about a man on the run who just started wanting to live well but who has to fight to gain his life back.

A strange horror comedy that takes place in a share house where Meguro Mio and monsters [Youkai] live.

Mio Meguro is a timid person. She is afraid of being hated by others and this causes her to refrain from saying what she really wants to say. She doesn't have any specific things she wants to do. She got a job and eventually dated a man from her workplace work. Mio Meguro wanted to marry the man, but he turns out to be a bad guy. Because of him, she becomes penniless and unemployed. Her life descends into a bottomless pit. Mio Meguro then happens to get a sharehouse, where the mysterious creatures known as yokai live. The yokai try to solve her problems in radical ways.
