Toyoko doesn't know how to love her daughter Terue and subjects the latter to physical abuse when she was a child. As a result, Terue was hungry for love but didn't know how to be loved. Years later, Terue grows up and has a daughter Migusa who is in senior high school when she reunites with her brother Takenori who was separated from her at birth. Due to the reunion, memories of her miserable childhood come flooding back. With the support of Migusa, Terue decides to head to Taiwan to look for her late father's grave and finds out the truth behind her mother's behaviour after meeting Toyoko there.

In the first film, the comic-foil reins were handled by Xu Da-fu (mainland comedian Huang Bo, also starring in the current comedy hit “Breakup Buddies”), a benign crook whose friendship with Wu was firmly if secretly cemented by the time “The Dawn of Assault” reached its endgame. A little Huang goes a long way, and Xu is back in a happily more limited capacity this time, shouting up a storm with dynamite strapped to his chest before taking a well-earned break for most of the film’s remainder. Nodame and Chiaki mutually decide that it would be for the best if they parted ways for a while so Nodame can practice for an upcoming competition. However, when things don't go her way, she gets impatient and depressed. While Nodame is away, Chiaki's former pianist Rui Son returns to take her place.
