Ruka has yet to mature into a full-fledged vampire. His canines have yet to fully develop, which means he still hasn't tasted human blood — or, at least, human blood that he's drawn himself. In order to get him prepared, he is cast down into the world of humans, where he boards with Jiro, the owner of a Chinese restaurant, and enrolls in high school. His homeroom teacher is a cheerful, though meddlesome, young woman who catches the fledgling bloodsucker off-guard. Is he actually falling in love with a mortal?

Law Lik-ah (Kevin Cheng), a resident of Sham Shui Po, together with his cousin George Mike, Jr (Alex Lam) runs a legal clinic for the community in the social service centre. Hi friend Tin Ka-fu (Sam Lee), is an active social worker who neglects his parents when he is doing social work. Law is a talented former barrister who fights injustice for the people of the Sham Shui Po district in Hong Kong. He encounters Kris (Myolie Wu) who is an upcoming lawyer. However, Kris finds these encounters less pleasant and finds Law uncouth and unkempt. As the story progresses, Kris realises that Law is her idol and eventually falls for him.

This will be based on the first novel of the series of Lu Xiao Feng called ‘The Kingdom of the Golden Bird’.

Displeased, she and her eunuch Siu Yuen escapes the palace and ends up in Chi Lik Kung Town. In town, she is happy to see men working for her lily pond, but when she sees a very ugly statue of herself being built, she grows angry and smashes the statue into pieces, leading her to be tried in court, where she confronts Magistrate Nin. Nin, oblivious to the fact that she's the princess, asks her for her name. Hiding her identity, the princess invents the name "Kung Yan-so" on a whim. Upon hearing her name, Nim Chi takes the princess home, mistaking her to be the daughter of the Kam family's savior, who died to save Nin. Seeing that the Kam household is a good place for shelter, she and Siu Yuen decide to stay in the Kam household until it's safe for them to leave, simultaneously completing a chain of community labor in Nin's office as a punishment for destroying government property.

A direct sequel, On the First Beat (學警出更) was produced and broadcast in 2007 continued with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan, alongside Joey Yung, Sonija Kwok and Michael Tao. Another sequel, E.U. (學警狙擊) was produced and released in 2009 continued with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan, alongside Michael Miu, Kathy Chow, Elanne Kong, and Michael Tse. Michael Miu reprises a new role as a triad boss in E.U., which is unrelated to his role in The Academy.
