Kiriko (Hikari Mitsushima) and his brother Daigo (Takeru Shibuya) are watching 3D movie when a stuffed rabbit suddenly jumps out from the screen. Earlier Daigo violently took away the life of a rabbit inside a schoolyard, and Kiriko failed to stop his action in time.

Soon Daigo has been invited to enter a mysterious world, where a strange stairs appears in the storeroom every night. Kiriko feels that there is someone on the other side of the closet at home. She decides to follow a stranger dressed in a rabbit costume who suddenly arrives to take his brother away into an alternate world.

A man named Gates heads a mysterious group called “Shinbunshi” who don newspaper masks and post internet videos informing the public of their crimes of justice against people they deem guilty of things not punishable by law. Meanwhile, Erika Yoshino, an elite inspector from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s cyber crime division attempts to track down the members of Shinbunshi and put a stop to their crimes. However, the group gradually begins to win over the support of the public with their videos.

Shioya Reiko and Sato Naomi are ordinary women in their 60s. Reiko is the head of an elementary school while Naomi is a grandmother with a sharp tongue, but cannot stand up to her grandson, Yuta. Naomi is delighted to have her daughter, Tomomi, and family come to live together with her. Tomomi and her husband, Masuo, decided to change schools and relocate after Yuta refused to attend school because he was being bullied. Yuta quickly makes friends with Chika who lives next door. Knowing that Chika is Yoichiro’s daughter, she tries to find a solution that will not hurt Yuta. However, Tokita and his subordinate, Shichimi, stop at nothing to force her to proceed with the mission. She and Reiko team up again to uncover the true identity of Yoichiro in an attempt to stop a crime.

Soon after, Ritsuko leaves a sparse note for her fiance Saku, "I'm going away for a while. Don't worry about me. - Ritsuko." During this time a Typhoon is approaching Japan and Saku watches the news at his friends bar. He spots his fiance walking in the background of a news report at the airport. He knows Ritsuko is going to her home town of Shikoku and Saku decides to go back there as well, the place where he grew up and first met Ritsuko and the girl on the tape.
