A school teacher Do Kyung dies as he fails to save his student Ji Yong from drowning. After the two pass away, Do Kyung's wife Myung Ji and Ji Yong's sister Ji un are left alone in the world, having to cope with the loss of their loved ones. Myung Ji travels to Warsaw, Poland, to stay distanced from her harsh reality and meets an old friend to whom she hides her husband's death as if she is trying to reject the tragedy. While she is unable to let him go, Ji Eun is hospitalized as her health condition worsens. Lacking any enthusiasm for life, Ji Eun also struggles to recover. On the day of the Warsaw Uprising, where people commemorate the death of victims of their dark history, Myung Ji returns to her home in Korea, where a letter from Ji Eun is awaiting.

While a menacing typhoon approaches, an accident at the giant natural gas plant Regalia occurs. Japan Coast Guard rescue divers Daisuke Senzaki, Tetsuya Yoshioka and engineer Hiroshiichirou Sakuragi head together to the gas plant. During their rescue efforts an explosion occurs that traps Daisuke, Natsu Nishizawa Kazue Fukiishi and worker Hisayoneo Kizima. Daisuke then looks for a way out for his party with a man he just meets Takuya Hotori. Because of the typhoon, even a helicopter cannot approach the Regalia.

Meanwhile, at the head office of the Japan Coast Guard, the Japanese coast guard tries to find a way to rescue the trapped people, but the government officials put national interests first. Tension arises between these two parties. Daisuke's wife Tamakisai Senzaki prays for the safe return of Daisuke not only for her sake, but for their new born son.

Daisuke's party is still trapped in the giant plant have one last choice...

The story revolves around two struggling comics, Takashi Komoto (Keisuke Koide) and Yohei Tanaka (Atsushi Ito), who have been performing together as a manzai comedy duo called “Boso Swimmers” for the past 12 years with very little success. The pair rarely discuss their concerns for the future together, even though they’re now 30 years old with little hope of making it big. Even so, they maintain their passion for comedy and start keeping an “exchange diary” as a way of communicating with each other more frankly.

In 1997, architect Sung-Hyun moves into the home 'Il Mare' that his estranged father built. One day, he pulls out a letter from his mailbox. The letter is from a young woman who addresses the new occupant of the 'Il Mare' house. Sung-Hyun is surprised because he is the only person to have moved into the home. More letters arrive and in those letters her predictions are accurate. She warns about a flurry of snow on a certain day in January of 1998 and an ensuing flu virus. Eun-Joo is convinced that her letter has traveled back in time to December of 1997 and starts writing regularly to Sung-Hyun. Eun-Joo decides to ask Sung-Hyun to find her cassette recorder, which she lost at a train station. Sung-Hyun goes to the train station and gets a glimpse of Eun-Joo ...
