Ching Long is a rebellious young man who moved from Hong Kong to Taiwan against his father's wishes, while his best friend Ko Tin Chun is a successful young architect. Ching Long returns to Hong Kong working manual labour jobs and also as a stunt double. The story revolves around Long and the misunderstanding with his father as well as his romantic relationships with a Vietnamnese refugee Chin Kiu and his sister's best friend, Sum Mun Yee. Ko Tin Chun is in love with Sum Mun Yee but he finds out that her heart is with Ching Long. Other events causes Ko Tin Chun to see Ching Long as an obstacle in his life. Their friendship was slowly approaching its breaking point.

At the beginning of the 1920s, military conflicts in the Warlord era has resulted in unbearable conditions. Amidst the chaos, Shen Qinan's family experiences a terrible misfortune. His father is killed after unwittingly becoming entangled in a smuggling case. His mother falls to grave danger in her escape. During Shanghai's development, Shen Qinan works hard to build affordable homes for the people. When the Second Sino-Japanese War erupted, Shen Qinan uncovers a conspiracy and plays his part to prevents many deaths.

The television series is centred around Sakina, who leaves her home with her daughter fleeing from her husband due to him domestically abusing her. She seeks shelter at her former lover Maqsood Sahab's house and their love story is so tragic and interesting that his wife Hajra, and daughter, Insha know it by heart.

The drama also revolves around Insha and Abdul love story.
