In 1997, a mysterious ghost saved humankind and then disappeared. It reappears again 24 years later and helps a serial killer escape. Kim Sae Ha, Jung Sae Byeok and Song Eo Jin pursue the ghost for different reasons.

Peking opera performer Yu Fei was kicked out by her teacher due to a mistake. Producer Bai Feili is looking to cast an actress with a background in Peking opera. As their paths cross, Yu Fei's powerful voice illuminates the stage. However, they lose contact due to an unfortunate death.

When they meet again, Yu Fei is in the midst of preparing for drama school as Bai Feili faces an unprecedented crisis. Yu Fei begins working part-time for Bai Feili while he helps with her reviews for her entrance exam. With the grandparents giving things a little push, the two rekindle their relationship. Yet another problem arises bit this time can they work out their issues?

In 1999, Dan's in grade eleven when he transfers to Saint Lawrence’s, an all-boys catholic school. His father is being treated at a nearby hospital for end-stage brain cancer; his mother died when he was only seven.

Dan is close to Brother Anurak, the school's dean and a psychologist. Brother Anurak tries to cure Dan of his sleep paralysis. In his dreams, Dan sees a shadow that suffocates him and it only gets worse when he transfers. Brother Anurak searches for meaning in the dreams; he believes Dan has some sort of complex pertaining to his father.

Dan causes a panic on his first day when he chooses a seat at the desk of Trin, a senior who mysteriously vanished at the lake behind the school a year prior. No one dares to sit at that desk, and no one dares throw it away. He gets to know his classmate Nai and roommate Josh as well as Cha-aim, a student from Saint Mary's who comes to perform in the annual play. As the four of them grow closer, they begin to look into Trin's disappearance while helping Dan evade the shadow that's plaguing him.

As fate would have it, the hijackers were also reborn to be traffic cop Seung Tin Tong and doctor Cheuk Yeuk Nan. They continued to be obstacles for Leung Seng and Kam Mui. The story follows a man who was deeply influenced by television and the film industry since he was young and goes on his way to become successful in the field. It was a period near the end of the 1970's. Feng Du (Jin Shijia) is a young man who lived in the small alleys of Old Beijing. When he first came across a TV at his friend's house, he was drawn to the little boombox and mesmerized by the moving pictures. During high school, he once built himself a TV from discarded materials just to prove something to his girlfriend. As the nation opens its doors to reform, Feng Du jumps at the chance to pursue his dreams and he starts on a path to becoming a producer.
