It is not that they are unable to get married. Rather, they all choose to remain single, as they believe that marriage is not the be all and end all. Life holds more promising things beyond marriage, and thus they are all celebrating life as a single. This drama takes a look at life from the perspectives of these men and women. Hoshino Mamoru is the President of a film production company, having taken over the position from his father. He is an excellent creative director, but he detests chaos and hence prefers to remain single. His brother, Susumu, works at the same company, taking care of the business side of things. Currently undergoing divorce proceedings, Susumu has had to move out of his marital home. Haruno Yuki is disillusioned with men, after having gone through several failed relationships. She wasn't making great strides in her career either, and so one day, she decided to quit her job and pursue her dream of becoming a scriptwriter. In order to pay the bills, she takes on a part-time job at a maid agency. Before she knows it, she gets her chance to make her dream come true! It could be Fate, or just plain coincidence, but the 3 of them are plunged into each other's lives; The "Affluent Single", the "Divorced Hero" and the "Marriage Refugee". "Bad Love" follows the lives of five people.

So Won is 29-years-old and has a high school level education. She works as a clerk at a fabric store. So Won possesses a bright and honest personality. Her dream is to become a designer. Her twin sister is Eun Hye. Eun Hye's personality is completely different from So Won's. Eun Hye is feminine and quiet. Both sisters were accepted into a university, but, due to their financial situation, only Eun Hye was able to attend. To this day, Eun Hye feels guilt about that.

Jae Hyuk works as a designer. He is the first son of Chairman Han, who runs the Noyoo Group. Jae Hyuk fell in love with Eun Hye at first sight and they live together despite objections from Jae Hyuk's family.

Jae Hyuk has a younger stepbrother, Min Hyuk. Min Hyuk desperately wants to receive recognition from his father. Meanwhile, Yeon Soo works as a contract employee at Noyoo Group. When she was little, she lived off So-Won’s family. She wants to have successful life, but, in reality, she is still poor.

Two sisters live in different ways to achieve better living status, one struggles, and the other falls in love with a government official and becomes his mistress.

The drama depicts the efforts by the main character, Lee Seo Won (Jin Se Yun) born in prison, who helps people unfairly accused, using Waeji-bu, the private litigation system in Joseon.

Celica is the daughter of a wealthy family. Her father owns a big house and has lots of money. However, they are living in a small house at the country side and they plan to move. Tewada's family wants to go first to prepare the new house for Celica's family, which only includes her dad and herself. Tewada's family thought that both of them died and they pretended that Tewada is Celica's father's son in order for him to get the inheritence. Tewada doesn't know anything because Celica's father has always treated him as a son. On the other hand, the mayor of the town decides to raise Celica, until she is old enough to go back and fight for her rights. He changed her name so that the bad guys won't be able to find her again. Years later, Celica and Tewada are both grown up and they meet again.

Nam Se Hee (Lee Min Ki) is a single man in his early 30’s. He has chosen to not marry. He owns his home, but he owes a lot on his mortgage. Meanwhile, Yoon Ji Ho (Jung So Min) is a single woman in her early 30’s. She does not own a home and envies those that do. She has given up on dating due to her financial struggles. Yoon Ji Ho begins to live at Nam Se Hee’s house. They become housemates.
