Xia Libin, an auto mechanic, is forced by his future mother-in-law to buy a house before he can get married. Bai Ping and his love interest Wei Lan from the same company plan to get married secretly, so they plan to buy a two-bedroom house in partnership with Xia Libin and pay off the mortgage together. The young pair have been in love for two years, but because the company does not allow love, they had to carry on a long-lasting underground relationship. They also did not let their family know because of circumstances and conflicts ensued and escalated.

Xu Zilin, a reporter for an entertainment newspaper, is promoted by the editor-in-chief to the position of editor-in-chief of a column that is critical of men after an occasional guest appearance on a dating show. Her radical views lead Xia Libin to have problems with his mother-in-law, and Xia Libin wants to take revenge against Xu Zilin, but in the process, the happy couple comes together. Although a variety of conflicts, pressure and changes, the four young people begin to understand each other, and gradually grow towards maturity.

The story of women in their 20s who want to do things right in life.

A story of young boys and girls who are in between jobs begins with a misunderstanding on them as an idol in the countryside. They are actually preparing together for job interviews in resort pension but start performing for African guests due to ruralists’ misunderstanding.

This story is about three people, Jae Ho, Shi Yung and Suk Ho. Jae Ho and his sister Jae Young are abandoned by their mother to escape poverty. Because of this, Jae Ho doesn't understand what love is. And so, he has a dream of becoming rich, thinking that there is no such thing as love, only money. He works hard his whole life while supporting himself and his sister through college. He works at a seafood wholesale market selling crabs to vendors. He lives with his aunt who has taken him and his sister in after their mother abandoned them.

With his big dreams and ambitions, he pretends to be rich while in school, in order to gain the attention of Hyun Su, who is from a very rich family. Thus, he tries to get her to like him so he can marry into her family and become rich. But during this process, he falls in love with his Psychology teacher, Shi Yung. He battles with his feelings and his ambitions, and ultimately picks love over money. Even though they go through hardship, he realizes that he couldn't survive without both, and so he gives up on Shi Yung for money and wishes her happiness.

After losing his two wives, Sung Chee (Bobby Au Yeung) somehow winds up in a new town. Back in his hometown, Sung Chee was a well-known forensics officer that had solved many cases. He soon meets Yuen Yuk Chu (Charmaine Sheh) and is employed to work in her mother's shop to pay off his debt. Sung Chee's real identity soon emerges and he is back to discovering how murder victims came to meet death, with the help of his new acquaintances. Chow Chi Lung (Stephen Au) convinces Sung Chee to take him under his wing and later becomes his apprentice. A mutual love develops between Yuen Yuk Chu and Sung Chee, but he denies his love for her believing his fate is to be alone.

King Goujian of Yue was once imprisoned by King Fuchai of Wu after a defeat in war, and Yue later became a tributary state to Wu. Secretly planning his revenge, Goujian's minister Wen Zhong suggested training beautiful women and offering them to Fuchai as a tribute (knowing Fuchai could not resist beautiful women). His other minister, Fan Li, found Xi Shi and Zheng Dan, and gifted them to Fuchai in 490 BC. Bewitched by the beauty and kindness of Xi Shi and Zheng Dan, Fuchai forgot all about his state affairs and at their instigation, killed his best advisor, the great general Wu Zixu. Fuchai even built Guanwa Palace (Palace of Beautiful Women) in an imperial park on the slope of Lingyan Hill, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of Suzhou. The strength of Wu dwindled, and in 473 BC Goujian launched his strike and put the Wu army to full rout. King Fuchai lamented that he should have listened to Wu Zixu, and then committed suicide. In the legend, after the fall of Wu, Fan Li retired from his ministerial post and lived with Xi Shi on a fishing boat, roaming like fairies in the misty wilderness of Taihu Lake, and no one saw them ever again. This is according to Yuan Kang's Yue Jueshu (越绝书). Another version, according to Mozi, is that Xi Shi eventually died from drowning in the river. (西施之沈，其美也)

He carries out his job righteously, so King Jung-Jo trusts Jung Yak-Yong. But Jung Yak-Yong is involved in the case of Priest Joo Moon-Mo who spreads western learning thought. Jung Yak-Yong is blamed by people who are jealous of him and finally Jung Yak-Yong is demoted to the low-ranking government position of the Chalbang official of the Geumjeong area. Jung Yak-Yong doesn't expect a lot of work in his new position, but cases occur everywhere.
