Student body president Tinn has a secret crush on Gun, the head of the music club and lead singer of the middling band Chinzilla.

The son of the principle, Tinn is instructed to axe any clubs that don't boost their school's reputation. The music club tops that list and Tinn is therefore Gun's number one enemy. To make matters worse, the club's newest member is talented and attractive Sound who Gun bonds with over music. How can Tinn compete with that?

Desperate to save his club, Gun pledges servitude to Tinn who isn't stupid enough to turn down an offer like that. When Tinn learns Chinzilla has a rule that band members aren't permitted to date until they win the Hot Wave Music Contest, he vows to do whatever it takes to help them do just that.

At that time, the magistrate in charge had let the case go unsolved due to pressure from the powers-to-be. The only clue Genjiro has is that it must be someone powerful, in order for the magistrate not to pursue the matter.

When Kim Ji Yong was a child, his mother was beaten to death in the street. The culprit only received three and half years in prison. Kim Ji Yong—now an adult—sees that his mother's killer hasn't changed at all. Ji Yong takes matters into his own hands and beats him brutally.

Subsequently, Kim Ji Yong begins living two entirely different lives. On weekdays, he's a model student at the police university. During the weekends, he punishes criminals who'd recieved light sentences and continue to commit criminal acts. Now called Vigilante, Ji Yong receives help from admirer Cho Kang Ok. Meanwhile, Detective Cho Heon chases after the man called Vigilante.

In the story, the artificial lifeforms known as the "Chemies", made to imitate things that exist in the world such as grasshoppers, were created from the art of the best alchemy techniques. Each and every one of them were carefully stored in "Ride Chemie Cards' until they were accidentally released all at once into the wild.

Our main protagonist, Houtarou Ichinose, is entrusted with the Gotcha Driver and the mission to recollect the Chemies that have been released into the world. Some are well suited for human companionship and if resonated with a good heart, Houtarou can fuse with them and transform into Kamen Rider Gotchard. However those that are influenced by human malice, there is a danger of them birthing monsters known as the Malgam. This is a story that explores the nature of good and evil, which are two sides of the same coin.

Will Gotchard be able to "collect them all", or will he let his carelessness mark the destruction of the world?
