In the mid-to-late 1980s, Xiao Zhan, Cong Xiaoqing, and other domestic college elites from different backgrounds and personalities embarked on a journey of pursuing the American dream. They were the pride of the sky in China, but they turned into phoenixes when they arrived in the United States. Obstructed academic studies, emotional frustration, financial crisis, interpersonal crisis, they face difficulties and ups and downs and finally succeed in their careers. Later, he resolutely chose to return to the homeland of the motherland, work together to start a business, and move forward. From China to the United States, and from the United States to China, for more than 30 years of hardening, the group finally presented a magnificent hymn from the "sea side" to the world in various fields such as scientific research and finance.

The setting is in Taiwan's 1950s to 1970s (and according to the screen writer, it would end on year 2000). Its story revolves around a certain village where you can find love and friendship. Each family in the village has a story to tell.

Fujiwara Hana and Katayama Mizuki have been best friends since elementary school. When Hana gets dumped by her boyfriend who was cheating on her, Hana and Mizuki take a trip together to relieve her heartbreak. They meet two guys – Narita Yosuke and Ichinose Ayumu – at a hot spring inn at their destination. Although they have only just become acquainted, Yosuke suddenly chides Hana, who does not have it in her nature to speak her mind. At first, Hana gets defensive. But she starts to realize that her inability to speak out because she is too mindful of others is a shortcoming and tries to change. On the other hand, Mizuki, who has never dated seriously before, wants to be loved. Yosuke is despised for saying things that he thinks are for the other party’s sake while Ayumu is a mixture of kindness and frivolousness. Then there is Ayumu’s “younger brother” Kanata (Shimasaki Toa). Friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and quarrels swirl in each of them. They start to come to terms with themselves through love.

This is the story of three cousins who encounter different problems in the real world and who all fall in love. The first cousin, Zhao Qing Chu, is an aspiring and ambitious young lawyer who falls in love with Zhou Jin, a wealthy man with a dark past. Qian Xiao Yang, the second cousin, is trying to build a future in the big city despite her mom's attempts to make her stay in their small town and become a nurse. Xiao Yang discovers that life in the big city is not as easy as she thought. She encounters Fang Yu and a series of misunderstanding and adventures happen between the two of them. Last but not least, Li Pili is the youngest cousin. At a young age, her mother who held high hopes for her, sent her all the way to England hoping that she would be able to attend Cambridge. Pili crushes those hopes when she decides to become a cook instead and buys a fake acceptance letter from Cambridge to show her mother upon her return. What will be the fate of these three girls?

To fight against the rise in criminal organizations, the Hyogo Prefectural Police have created a secret infiltration squad, the ´D-Team’, whose members are called ‘divers’. When infiltrating dangerous criminal organizations, they are often putting their lives at risk. The team’s best diver is Kurosawa , who’s known for being ruthless when apprehending criminals , but on occasion, will reveal his nicer side to others.

Snagging a new job at Heart Sports' sales department, Kanji transfers to the Tokyo office, where he meets his new colleague Rika and is reunited with his best friends from home—Mikami and Satomi. Mikami, Kanji, and Satomi have been friends since they were children, having grown up in the same small town. Mikami is Kanji's best male friend and Satomi is their platonic female friend whom both Mikami and Kanji have had a crush on since high school. After seeing Mikami forcedly kissing Satomi, Kanji felt despair, however, then quickly developed strong affection for Rika who was always energetic, funny, encouraging and caring. Their relationship was rather unstable to begin with, given Kanji's history with Satomi as well as Rika's (not so) secret affair with her and Kanji's boss Sendo [this affair was much more of a determinant in the original manga than in the drama, when Rika got pregnant bearing Sendo's child (not shown in the drama version), which was one of the reasons why Kanji chose Satomi over Rika]. In the meantime, denied by Satomi who thought Mikami was just playing with her, Mikami's attempts on pursuing his med school classmate Nagasaki had also been with much frustration.

School's back in session, and everybody's favorite group of boys (reprised by the idol group 5urprise) are back for a new semester of extracurricular antics. This season, the magical mentors reassemble with their newly elected leader (played by Song Joo Hee of Hello Venus), a bashful student who quickly discovers a new breed of cram school that's full of wondrous adventures and life lessons.
