What makes them tick? The four main characters from the popular 2016 Chinese television drama “The Mystic Nine” have gone through other experiences in their lives that have shaped the people they have become. These are their stories. In the “Hidden Dragons Underneath the Stage,” Er Yue Hong (Zhang Yi Xing) goes undercover as an opera singer to retrieve a cultural relic that is buried beneath an ancient tomb during the Sino-Japanese era. In the “Murders in the Xie Mansion,” Xie Jiu Ye (Yang Zi Jiang) investigates the mysterious deaths of several members of his household. In the “Phantom of Bifang Buckle,” Huo San Niang (Wang Mei Ren) must find his way out of a temple filled with poisonous gas that sparks a killing spree. In the “Slaughter of Abelmosk Gang,” Chen Pi A Si (Hu Yun Hao) starts his career as a hired killer when a little boy asks him to kill his family’s murderer.

Sze Sai Lun, along with his family, comes into town to be its new judge. He soon ends up having to sentence the town fool. When the fool ends up hanged at his house, Wong Tin Pak is blamed for his suicide by all the town's people. Everything seems like it is getting worse and worse until Sai Lun finds a simple ceramic pillow by accident. The pillow contains a helpful (but not too helpful) spirit who tries to help him solve the case. Mysteries •Note: Mysteries tend to cross over in several episodes, especially the endings of one and the start of the next. Mystery 1 Steamed buns of death - When a recently sentenced man is found dead, the judge is blamed for causing his suicide, but was it really a suicide? or is their something a little more sinister going on? Taels of gold, red paint, ants, and some funky soup all contribute to the mystery. Mystery 3 The Golden Fox is back... - and a family heirloom is missing. Will the head guard get his chance to finally catch the foe that has eluded him so long? And a lover from the past comes back to throw doubt on what was previously assumed. Mystery 4 Runaway Bride - Sze Sai Lun is about to marry his fourth wife, Heung, on the 3rd day of the 3rd month, when she disappears from her wedding chair. What happened to her and why is the Pillow Spirit walking around? Mystery 5 The Fugitive - Tin Pak has run off with Ming, and the Prince is not happy about this. Things go from bad to worse when Tin Pak is accused of killing Commander Pong. And why has the Pillow Spirit been acting even weirder than normal? Mystery 6 Dr. Feel-Good - Tin Pak has been proven innocent, but what deadly reason would Ming need four doctors for? The reason is as simple as black and white.

This play is about the story of Xia Dong Qing and Zhao Li, the soul ferryman, helping the souls who stayed in the world because they have something to do with them. Xia Dong Qing, who does not seem to have any sense of existence, has an unknown secret. He has special eyes. He can see sentient beings in another world, commonly known as the Yin and Yang Eyes, and communicate with them. This secret caused Xia Dong Qing a lot of trouble.

The story of a common family living in the alleys of old Shanghai from the Cultural Revolution untill the days of reform and opening. Du Xin Sheng and Yu Pei Pei are classmates who have a deep affection for each other. Pei Pei’s grandmother, however, is a professor at the conservatory and denounced as reactionary by the Red Guards. In order to prevent the Red Guards from taking away the precious Italian cello in Pei Pei’s home, Xin Sheng goes to his father who does maintenance work at the bell tower at the Bund and they hide the cello in there. When more and more young people from the city are being sent to the countryside, the Du family’s eldest daughter Xin Fang is determined to follow as well. But when the unmarried Xin Fang gets pregnant in the countryside, the Du family is being confronted with a huge challenge.

Golden public relations genius Heung Kwong Nam (Dayo Wong) is popular with the girls, but not for his looks. Though he is known for his successful efforts in helping single ladies find their Mr. Rights, Kwong Nam himself is single, and he would rather pursue short-term relationships rather than be tied up long term. His new boss Shing Fa Lui (Kate Tsui ???) mistakes Kwong Nam to be a party boy, believing that he is only using his job as an excuse to get closer to women. Fa Lui also witnesses Kwong Nam attempting to woo her subordinate Yuen Huen (Sharon Chan ???). Yuen Yuen’s aunt, Yuen Sum (Elena Kong ???) hates Kwong Nam just as much as Fa Lui, and she often criticizes Kwong Nam in a magazine column she frequently writes for. Kwong Nam cannot care less about their hate and continues to do whatever he wants, that is, until his ex-girlfriend surfaces into his life once again, and Kwong Nam’s life is turned around dramatically.

A drama that tells the story of strong bond between the members of a family even though they are not blood-related. This drama also portrays the hope of parents toward their children's success and how difficult for fresh university graduates to get respectable and well-paid jobs.

Han Geu Roo is an autistic 20-year-old. He works for his father’s business “Move To Heaven,” a company that specializes in crime scene cleanup, where they also collect and arrange items left by deceased people, and deliver them to the bereaved family.

When Geu Roo's father dies, Geu Roo's guardianship passes to his uncle, ex-convict Cho Sang Gu, who is a martial arts fighter in underground matches. Per the father's will, Sang Gu must care for and work with Geu Roo in “Move To Heaven” for three months to gain full guardianship and claim the inheritance. Eying money, Sang Gu agrees to the conditions and moves in.
