Set during the Ming Dynasty, the story revolves around the romance between General Xu Lingyi and the concubine's daughter Shiyiniang that starts from an arranged marriage. Despite being born with a low status, Luo Shiyiniang is extremely assertive and believes that a woman's vision should not be limited to the household. She hopes to rely on her embroidery skills as a ticket to freedom. However, the once esteemed Luo family is in a state of decline. Hoping to save the clan through a marriage alliance, Shiyiniang is selected to become the wife of Yongping Duke and great general Xu Lingyi. Things were not easy for Shiyiniang due to the Xu family's biases towards her. Nonetheless, she manages to win over their trust through her optimism and sincerity. Xu Lingyi also becomes attracted to Shiyiniang's various beautiful qualities such that husband and wife manage to find love after marriage.

Through Xu Lingyi's support, Shiyiniang opens Xian Ling Pavillion to have her own embroidery workshop. Meanwhile, Xu Lingyi experiences many setbacks as he tries to protect his homeland and improve the livelihood of the people by supporting the lifting of a maritime ban. As they face a crisis that could spell the end for the Xu family, Xu Lingyi and Shiyiniang continue to support each other through thick and thin.

Arisawa Yuichika enrolls in an elite girls' high school attended by the children of wealthy families. Thinking of her daughter's future, her mother Chihiro tries her best to scrape together the school fees, but life for the couple is not easy. When Yuichika advances to her second year of high school, the school merges with an all-boys school to become coeducational, Tomorrow Academy. The students are excited, but a new school rule is enacted that prohibits dating between boys and girls. What's more, the rule is so strict that any student who violates the rule and has sexual intercourse will be expelled.

The student council immediately began patrolling around love hotels and other areas in what is known as the "rabbit hunt," and many students dropped out. Yuichika's best friend was also forced to drop out. Meanwhile, in order to save her mother, who was left with a huge debt from her ex-husband, Yuichika began working as a "love keeper," accepting money from violators without revealing her true identity and erasing evidence photos. The students had once given up on love, but with the arrival of a savior, the romance landscape becomes even more complicated and tangled. Former CID detective Kevin Cheng was forced to leave the police force due to suspicions that he was involved in an arson case. He joins a security company, where he meets Ruco Chan. As a former detective, Kevin has a reclusive character, but has a sharp eye that can catch tiny details from surveillance footage which are often the key to solving cases. Ruco's thinking and style of working is similar to Kevin's and is also excellent at his job. The two become good friends and are looked upon favourably by their superior Lau Kong. This is until private investigator Tavia Yeung appears. Conflict arises when she mistakes Kevin for an old friend.
