Con artist Kent Cheng is imprisoned after being set up by Chinese detective Kent Tong and his senior Paul Chun. Kent T. even steals his girlfriend, Angie Cheong. Five years later, Kent C. has become a renowned film producer. He has two assistants (Babyjohn Choi and James Ng), as well as his daughter (Ada Wong), whom he recently reunited with. Shim Deok Chool has had a life long dreaming of performing ballet. He is 70-years-old and retired from his job as a post office employee. Due to life situations, he put aside his dream of becoming a ballet dancer and worked a normal job to support his family. Now, Shim Deok Chool makes the decision to pursue his dream again. The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils is an upcoming Chinese television series adapted from Louis Cha's novel Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. It is produced by the companies Zhejiang Hua Ce Media and Dong Yang Da Qian Media, and directed by Hong Kong television series director Lai Shui-ching. Filming started on 10 November 2012 and the series is expected to be released in 2013.

Satoh Aya, a temporary office worker who never bad-mouths about others no matter how much she is fooled, is conveniently used in her company as a 'sticky woman'. The theme of "season 7" is diversity. The members of the Special Investigation Unit, including the team leader Kunikida Seiji, Asawa Naoki, Komiyama Shiho, Aoyagi Yasushi, Yazawa Hideaki, Shindo Ryo, and Takao Yuma all have strong personalities. However, their ages, careers, personal circumstances, investigative viewpoints, and approaches to their work are all very different. Therefore, clashes occur on a daily basis, but based on the trust they have built up over the years, they are a team that can honestly admit their differences in opinion and work together.

On the other hand, the crimes they face are also becoming more diverse with the times. In the new season, they will depict not only cases that reflect the "current" world, but also various human dramas lurking in the background and the detectives who face them with all their might, in a complete episode format.
