The 40th entry of Toei's long-running Super Sentai series, following Shuriken Sentai Ninninger. The central story of Zyuohger revolves around the conflict between the Zyumans of Zyuland, humanoids with animal features, and their enemies, an alien force known as the Deathgaliens who use Earth as the field for their 100th Blood Game. Four of the Zyumans have protected their kind as the Zyuohgers, but when the human Yamato Kazakiri finds Zyuland, and accidentally separates the Zyumans from their people on Earth, Yamato joins Sela, Leo, Tusk, and Amu as the fifth member of the Zyuohger team to protect Earth from the Deathgaliens.

Historians know Qin Shi Huang as a cruel tyrant, but few know of his heartfelt love for a medicine girl named A Feng. They met when he was still Yin Zheng, a downtrodden hostage prince in Handan. She took care of him, and their feelings grew to the point that they were willing to die for one another. Meanwhile, with her hard-working and sunny attitude, Cheung Yat Ning is able to break through many barriers and whole-heartedly works for her idol Yip Long. When the magazine falls dangerously close to shutting down, Cheung Yat Ning and Fan Gwok Nong join forces to create a miracle and help Yip Long win back all the applause. At this time, Yip Long decides to announce his successor and retire from the fashion industry.

The leader of Flying Tiger Mountain sect, Dou Ling Kan, and his godson, Tie Mo Le, just happen to be passing hrough a small town and by its most popular hangout when a ruckus inside catches their attention. It turns out that the entire place has been bought out by Wang Long Ke, an underling of An Lu Shan. Wang Long Ke's motive is to steal a secret letter from Guo Zi Yi meant for Emperor Xuan Zong indicating that An Lu Shan is planning to rebel against the Tang dynasty. Tie Mo Le has always wanted to avenge his parents' death at the hands of An Lu Shan many years ago and realizes that his chance may have finally arrived.
