Directed by TV writer, director and host Sunny Lau, A Perfect Day for Arsenide adapts ten stories from the same-titled novel by Hong Kong writer Pizza, the author of Lost On A Red Mini Bus To Taipo. Spanning suspense, horror, comedy, fantasy and more, the inventive film rolls out whimsical and bizarre stories about the absurdity of life in the wild city of Hong Kong. The film's large cast includes Wilfred Lau, Terrence Siufay, Eric Kot, Hanna Chan, Chloe So, Kevin Lee, Alden Hung and Sarika Choi.

Two brothers who were raised under different circumstances have their lives interchanged. One lives as a student while the other suits up for work and meets office lady Tang Shi, thus marking the start of a series of mishaps.

Lu Xiang and Lu Yin are brothers. Because of their parents, they ended up being raised separately by their grandmothers. Lu Xiang has been flunking out of college. Lu Yin is a high-ranking executive who returns from abroad. The two brothers who know nothing about each other decide to switch identities for a few days to experience the other's lifestyle.

Alas, Lu Yin gets into an accident and wakes up with amnesia. He comes to believe that he really is a P.E. student. In order to save his older brother's company, the younger Lu Xiang pretends to be an executive all while Lu Yin relives the joys and pains of college. Lu Xiang causes more trouble than he can handle, but eventually finds love with Tang Shi from Human Resources.

Lu Siheng is the CEO of an IT company and is known as the "male god" of the industry. He was separated from his childhood playmate, and kept to himself ever since. He meets Lin Xiaodi, an news anchor who has to move in to his house due to problems with her property. After spending some time with her, he realizes that she is his long-lost childhood friend whom he has been searching for for fifteen years.

Following a whirlwind romance, two people from opposite worlds get married — only to discover that nothing is what it seems.

Boyo's life changed dramatically when her boyfriend asked to break up. Also, she became unemployed because of her friend, Stud, who brought strangers to their home. Boyo and Boom decided to kick out Stud and look for a new person to stay with them. Boyo eventually got a recommendation from Amm and Cable, who was Good, a freelance artist.

Good decided to stay with them and many things happened between Boyo and Good, but they decided to be friends. Meanwhile, Boom, a beautiful woman, has a problem with her boyfriend, Tor, who doesn't want to acknowledge himself as a boyfriend because Tor feels Boom is too beautiful and is accused of being a naughty woman.

Amm and Cable have been lovers for a long time. They have bought an apartment for their future. However, Amm is not entirely sure that Cable is ready for their future. This causes Amm and Cable to fight and and break up. Amm tells Cable to leave the apartment, but Cable doesn't want to. Eventually, they decide to stay in one room until one of them cannot stand the situation and leaves the apartment.

Stud who was kicked out by Boom and Boyo, finally stays with his friend, Earth, an office worker with a perfect life. Earth lives with his boyfriend, a young doctor named Sam. Even though Earth and Sam love each other, there are certainly problems they face. Stud always listens to them and provides advice to both of them.
