The series follows Man Ming and Woh Kaau Chi who grew up together since babies. Once all grown up, Man Ming and Kaau Chi were curious about the martial arts world, so they venture out into jianghu.

During 1930s Minguo in the nation's capital, opera performer Xiao Jun Sheng is arrested for the murders of five women at the peak of his career after a witness, Master Na, claimed to see him at one of the crime scenes. Jun Sheng is subsequently poisoned in jail with his death made to appear as a guilt-driven suicide, and his wife is forced to flee with their two young children. Takei Chiyo was born to a poor family in Osaka Prefecture’s Minamikawachi district at the of the Meiji era. Her mother passed away when she was still a child, and she lived with her father Teruo and younger brother. Although Chiyo could not be put through elementary school, she has the gift of the gab and quick wit. At the age of 9, she starts working as a servant in Dotonbori and comes across the theatre world which immediately captivates her. Chiyo’s desire to become an actress grows stronger by the day. She eventually runs away and heads to Kyoto where she throws herself into acting.
