58-year-old Ito Gentaro lives with his wife Chizuru in a house in Tokyo. Each of their three daughters should have left home and lived well. However, their eldest daughter 28-year-old Yuka is single and doing well at work but propensity for affairs. Their 25-year-old second daughter Rika wedded a highly educated man and lives in Osaka but the couple are on the brink of divorce. Their youngest daughter 22-year-old Mika is also single and the moment she gets to start living on her own, she half cohabits with a man who does not seem like he will be a successful manga artist. Gentaro worries endlessly about his daughters who are poor judges of character. Completely ignoring their tastes, this stubborn, old-fashioned father suddenly brings a man whom he likes to the house in the middle of the night and introduces him to his daughters. In fact this man is Yuka’s ex-boyfriend. What will the family be like the next day!?

Veteran police officer, Bai Qingxiong (Chen Hanwei), forms an agency called Cold Case Investigators (CCI) which aims to crack unsolved cases. Through this agency, he hopes to give a proper closure to family members of the victims. He is a righteous man who is confident that all criminal will not escape the law. The CCI uses unorthodox methods to search for clues which eventually led them to the truth. There are many clashes among the team during the investigation process but sparks also flew among young members, Huang Yuyang (Rebecca Lim), Hong Junyan (Desmond Tan) and Lan Haifeng (Yusuke Fukuchi). The trio soon find themselves entangled in a love triangle. Each time the team manage to solve a case, they are also reminded of their own mystery past. It seems that Qingxiong, Yuyang, and Junyan each have a secret from the past which they are unable to let go of. Eventually, they all decide to work together to investigate their own mystery cases. Can they solve the cases and finally let go of the past?

Celica is the daughter of a wealthy family. Her father owns a big house and has lots of money. However, they are living in a small house at the country side and they plan to move. Tewada's family wants to go first to prepare the new house for Celica's family, which only includes her dad and herself. On the other hand, the mayor of the town decides to raise Celica, until she is old enough to go back and fight for her rights. He changed her name so that the bad guys won't be able to find her again. Years later, Celica and Tewada are both grown up and they meet again.
