As a child, Man Cho was rendered mute as a result of the cruel actions of his mother and was adopted by the kind-hearted Chu Sa Kiu. Man Cho grew up with Sa Kiu's daughter Kwan Ho, and the two eventually develop romantic feelings for one another. Man Cho is extremely self-sacrificing, has an inferiority complex due to his disability, and therefore feels unworthy of Kwan Ho. Sa Kiu is also against their relationship and things are further complicated when Si To Lai Sun enters the picture after falling for Kwan Ho, too. This series was one of the highest rated TVB series in 2000, reaching a peak of 40 points.

The plot is an honest-to-goodness story about the Yang family and their undying loyalty to the country and its useless and selfish emperor. Each son was given their role but the majority of the story revolved around the fourth son, Alec Su, who is the rebel type because he is the one being scolded the most as he has his own ideologies. The story goes on as the family faces the war and one by one, the members faltered.

Going to Seraivia to meet old senpai Yuzurihara (Nakamura Shunsuke), Izawa Keigo (Tamayama Tetsuji) finds himself involved in more than he could ever expect. He quickly learns there’s no law you cant bend with a few good dead presidents, and that embassies only work as long as you dont become a burden to them. Following a man who conned his friend, Keigo finds himself in prison, with a 10 year sentence and seemingly no way to escape, although he does find a friend in the ambiguous Pon (Ohmori Nao, his first drama appearance in two years). Real estate intrigues, corrupt police, a mounting death toll and the tasty decadence of a banana (or well, pineapple) republic. Thats Seraivia for you.
