Mojin: Mysterious Treasure (2020)

"We can't live without each other. You're my other half." "I've killed a woman." The domineering voice on the phone was that of a high school classmate, Mitsuo Ichikawa. Buried memories from the past resurface in the heart of a man with the same name, Mitsuo Ichikawa. It drags him right back into the passions of the past. They reunite as accomplices, yet their relationship as master and servant slowly changes into something else.

Shen Qiang is a newly graduated college students, hard to maintain a livelihood. Shen Qiang Qian Zhao girlfriend is a future full of hope and fantasy girls. Zhao Qian told him one of his more another headache! ! ! However, for Qian Zhao who it is a happy thing, but when she faced Shen Qiang of horror and sarcastic comments, so that a better future Qian Zhao had a great question.

Among the steady stream of new Chinese movies opening in America, “A Beautiful Life” stands out — rather than an overstuffed, jingoistic historical tale or martial-arts blowout, it’s a contemporary romantic melodrama with a plaintive pop soundtrack that might call to mind “Terms of Endearment,” “The Other Sister” or, most strongly, a Nora Ephron comedy minus most of the laughs. (There’s also a bit of “Memento” thrown in.) It’s no great shakes, but a substantial number of American moviegoers — soft-hearted, slightly masochistic and largely abandoned by Hollywood — would like it if they found their way to it. The first hour, especially, is charming, before the balance shifts from romance to melodrama to, in the final minutes, the kind of maudlin crescendo that Asian audiences are accustomed to. The director, Andrew Lau, gives further proof of his versatility, having already shown that he can make very good gangster movies (“Infernal Affairs”) and so-so kung-fu epics (“Legend of the Fist,” which opened in the United States last month). He practices heroic restraint and delicacy, given the five main characters he’s been handed: one’s blind, one’s autistic, one’s mute, one has early-onset dementia and one’s a healthy, bitter drunk. Mr. Lau is helped by his charismatic stars, Shu Qi and Liu Ye, both of whom are very appealing within the narrow range set for them. Mr. Liu plays an upright cop who’s slowly losing his memory and leaves himself notes to remind him of his daily tasks; Ms. Shu has the Holly Golightly role as a real estate agent trying to strike it rich in Beijing so that she can support her parasitic Hong Kong family. (One not very convincing theme of the film is Beijing incorruptibility versus Hong Kong decadence.) She’s a bit forced and shrill in her drunk scenes, but otherwise she underplays adroitly and flashes some sly humor.

Hong Seol, an ordinary university student, works part-time jobs to pay for her tuition. Suddenly, Yoo Jung, a wealthy senior student at the same university, comes to ask her out of a date.

The time is 1971, 26 years after Japan's surrender to the Allies and the end of World War II. Sakie (Sachiko Hidari), whose husband was lost in New Guinea, watches the television coverage as the Emperor and Empress officiate at the annual ceremonies honoring Japan's war dead. Sakie is not allowed to participate in these ceremonies and she receives no Government pension. Her husband, or so she was informed in a cryptic telegram from the War Department, was shot as a deserter shortly before the armistice. Sakie, however, finds this difficult to believe. With the years her skepticism has increased as the Government has remained intentionally vague about the exact circumstances surrounding her husband's death. When she tracks down four men who knew her husband in his last days, they tell her a harrowing story.

Manami is the leader of her high school’s broadcasting club. While considering which a club member should read during the upcoming pre-graduation campus festival, Manami sees a girl named Chiyuki by the pool and subsequently becomes completely preoccupied with her, secretly peeping on her whenever possible. One day, Manami is taken by surprise when Chiyuki suddenly joins the broadcasting club, leading to a surge of strange new feelings.

The warm and tearful stories that happened among elite students while studying abroad and in the event they experience an inspirational and pure love.
