The story takes place in a Southeast Asian country. Many years ago, a cold case that remains unsolved to this day involved Song Yang as the sole survivor. He became the only witness to the case, while his grandfather, Song Zhao Lin, was the victim. For over a decade, Song Yang has been searching for the whereabouts of the killer.

Ren Wenxiu went to the township government to find a job because of family friction with Han Chunmei's neighborhood. Here, she met several people who had trouble with her in life: veteran Zhang Lin, middle school teacher Yang Zhigang, township government secretary Li Ping, and Wang Li. Wenxiu wanted to be an official when she entered the township government and wanted to work. Zhang Lin really didn’t look down upon Zhang Lin. As a veteran, Zhang Lin was a tough, decent, and hard-working personality. There were constant contradictions around working styles. Arasa-chan has feelings for Bunkei-kun (Shugo Oshinari) who feels awkward at the party.

Tim is an entertainment industry executive who specialized in helping celebrities with image issues finds the perils of his are getting to be a problem. There is then that he meets Belle, a superstar who became famous in a flash.

Sergeant Kuroi Maya arrives at the Violent Crimes Investigation Section of Kawasaki Aozora Police Precinct’s Criminal Affairs Division. Soon after she takes up her new post, she digs up and exposes the past of a criminal who has besieged a building and taken hostages and solves the case in the blink of an eye. Maya’s boss, Shirokane Fujiko, and the rest are dumbfounded. Maya is a beautiful yet sadistic detective who excels at checking out information on others and using it as a weapon to corner the enemy. But she has no sense of loyalty to the police organisation, completely ignores rules and loves to see troubled looks on people’s faces. She became a detective so that she can torment bad people all she wants. One night, police officer Daikanyama Shusuke of Aozora Minami Police Box receives a phone call about hooligans rampaging at a disused factory and discovers a dead body at the site. The good-natured, earnest but careless Daikanyama happens to catch the attention of Maya, who has come to the scene for the investigation, and gets transferred to the Violent Crimes Investigation Section. Fujiko is irate that the personnel change was carried out without consulting her. But Maya disregards Fujiko, designates Daikanyama as her partner and goes out to investigate the case. While detectives Arisugawa Tsuneo and Kondo Tokuji are proceeding with the investigation of the hooligans who were seen around the disused factory, Maya finds the photograph of a beautiful girl in the room of the murdered man, Aoyama. She learns from the medical examiner who has dissected the body that the criminal had persistently battered the dead body after murder, and goes to question Igarashi, the assistant branch manager of the credit association where Aoyama had worked as a security guard. The unlucky Shusuke finds himself at the mercy of Maya’s extreme behaviour, but starts to make effort to solve the difficult cases which occur every day.

Tomoki Sakai is a first year high school student. He has talent for diving and has been partaking in the sport for 6 years. He is also member of the dive club MDC, but the club is on the verge of shutting down due to budget deficits. Kayoko Asaki becomes the new coach of MDC and informs the team that they must produce an athlete on the national dive team for the next Olympics. Otherwise, their team will shut down forever. Tomoki Sakai has rival divers: Yoichi Fujitani and Shibuki Okitsu.

Akame Kotoji became a wandering samurai in order to avenge his lord and the uproar over the stolen lances, settles down at a tenement house in Edo that Kujiya Shouemon owns with the intention of spending the rest of his days quietly. However, Tajiri Tojiro the chief retainer of the Mitsushima family, one of the domains that fell victim to Akame, hates Akame because the family was humiliated by the lance incident, and is bent on revenge. A wandering samurai Sudo Heihachiro is sent in as the assassin. Meanwhile, Akame is introduced to the lady-in-waiting Oryo, a lady-in-waiting at the mansion of the Mizushima family, by Shouemon. She serves the captain of the military guards, Mizuno Kenmotsu. Akame is consulted about something but rejects her. However, in the end, he decides to take up his sword again. Believing Tajiri’s words that he will be employed as the Mitsushima domain’s fencing instructor if he defeats Akame, Sudo carries his infant son to attack Akame. At the end of the fierce fight, Akame beats Sudo but does not know what to do with the baby boy left behind. He is helped by the residents at the tenement house. Oryo, who intends to gain her own independence as a poet, supports a dispirited Akame. The two of them gradually become close. While Akame deals with love and child rearing for the first time in his life, he begins to find meaning in life.
