Rookie detective Tatsuya Sumire has dreamed of being like the hot-blooded detectives who appear in detective dramas since childhood. However, he is assigned to the First Section of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Entertainment Division, a section which deters crime of influential entertainers. The first order Tatsuya gets from his superior is to infiltrate an internet TV’s music programme as an idol in order to investigate a threatening letter. And so, the five-member idol group ‘Deka Dance’ is formed impromptu with Tatsuya, one-time swindler Kurosawa Yuya, former recluse Sakai Shokichi, struggling child star Hoshi Teruo and a silly part-timer Degawa Tetsuya. They are initially bewildered by the special world of the entertainment industry and keep getting into conflicts, but somehow get popular each time they investigate and solve the challenging cases that occur daily. And then they gradually become aware of themselves as idols. However, they will soon have to face off against the mysterious consummate villain.

Punn is the handsome owner of a popular bakery and the son of a billionaire. One of the reasons for his success is Weir, nicknamed the 'God of Pastry'. It's due to his skills that women from all over keep visiting his store, even if Weir isn't very interested.

Krathing works under Weir as an apprentice and general store employee. Lastly, there is also Pooh; he is Punn's personal bodyguard and works as a waiter, but he's not very good at it.

Still, everyone has their secrets. What will the reporter, Jamie, uncover when she digs deeper into their mysteries? Why do these children keep disappearing from this shop? Who did it?

SF8 is a science fiction anthology series of single-episode special dramas created by MBC, the Directors Guild of Korea, and the OTT platform Wavve. Set in a near future, the series tackles the themes of artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, robots, games, fantasy, horror, superpowers, and disasters.

SF8 was screened at the 24th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.

All the episodes were released on Wavve on July 10, 2020 while MBC TV is scheduled to air one episodes a week starting from August 14, 2020.

Akkee is a young businessman who blames Chatchanok for his for his parents’ bankruptcy and suicide. Not only is Chatchanok Akkee’s business rival, he is also dating his sister Wanisa. Chatchanok’s mother Amphaa does not approve of Wanisa. At his younger sister Chatchabaa’s party, Amphaa announces that announces that Chatchanok is to marry Kesanee. Wanisa, distraught over hearing this news, runs away from the party and gets raped by a gang of men, causing her to go insane. Akkee blames Chatchanok for his sister’s condition. He decides to take revenge by kidnapping Chatchabaa (Chatchanok’s sister) and taking her to an abandoned island where he tortures her physically and emotionally. Chatchabaa willingly sacrifices herself for her brother’s sake hoping to cool Akkee’s anger. However, things don’t always go as planned as Akkee starts developing feelings for Chatchabaa and learns that someone else may be behind Wanisa’s attack. How will his game of vengeance end?

The story is set in the devastated area of Kamata, Tokyo, in 1945 just after the end of the war. Horikita plays Shimomura Umeko, the youngest of three siblings whose father is a doctor at a university hospital. Compared to her outstanding sister Matsuko and brother Takeo, she lacks self-confidence, but an incident makes her determined to become a local doctor. In 2006, Sanada Rio lived in a country village where a missing person case took place. Rio later studied in the pharmacy department at a university in Tokyo. Now, at the age of 30, Rio takes the CEO position at Sanada Wellness, which is a subsidiary of Sanada Holdings. Rio’s mother runs Sanada Holdings. Rio receives attention from the media and public because of her young age as a CEO.

Rio then becomes a material witness in a series of murder cases. The murder cases took place recently and is somehow related to the missing person case from 2006. Three lawyers on Rio's side try to protect her. Meanwhile, a detective, whose first love was Rio, chases after the truth behind the cases.

In a modern society in which violent crimes are on the rise, there is a team that tries to resolve cases without bloodshed. It is the metropolitan police's special team, known by the abbreviation SIT (Special Investigation Team). The SIT doesn't get into action after a case but heads to the site just as a crime is being committed. They are on the front-line of risky missions, facing off against criminals; tenaciously conducting negotiations with criminals. As a result of the rigid police hierarchy that can curb the conduct of negotiators, the SIT is also a male-dominated society controlled with strict discipline. There is one female negotiator, Usagi Reiko, who bravely fights at the frontline. She is isolated in the male world of the SIT but courageously fights against crime as well as her organisation.
