6 people gather at a coffee shop on a winter day. While having fun conversations as usual, they begin to talk about mysterious events that they have recently experienced.

The first two stories are "Winter Miracle" starring Tsuchiya Tao, and "Lost at dusk" starring Aoi Wakana.

This is about the life stories of three characters from three generations, whose fate led them to a little mysterious bar, "Somewhere only we know." All three of them chose the path that they deemed it right, yet ended up with unhappiness and regret that they didn’t choose. This is until they’ve come and meet each other at this bar, where they received advice from Tor, a musician and the owner of this mysterious bar who gave them a special beer. It took them back to the beginning, allowing them to make new decisions of what they’d learned from the mistake.

Tai is a 17-year-old boy who has a problem with his girlfriend Sangnuea. He had to choose between his future and his love for Sangnuea and regrets that both cannot go together.

Gun is a 26-year-old man who wishes for an ideal romantic love. This is until he met that love Aye and later it turns out that he has to choose his dreams and life stability instead of love.

Pat is a 32-year-old man who is heartbroken when he finds out that his long-time friend Tisha is going to marry the person she loves. Afterwards, Pat learned that his love Tisha had an accident and a temporary memory loss. What she remembers was not true; in her head, she thought she is dating Pat, but still, he chose to return her to her actual lover.

When Tai, Gun, and Pat felt that goodness was no longer a solution to their happiness, they decided to choose again, without knowing that it may change their lives forever...

The theme of "season 7" is diversity. The members of the Special Investigation Unit, including the team leader Kunikida Seiji, Asawa Naoki, Komiyama Shiho, Aoyagi Yasushi, Yazawa Hideaki, Shindo Ryo, and Takao Yuma all have strong personalities. However, their ages, careers, personal circumstances, investigative viewpoints, and approaches to their work are all very different. Therefore, clashes occur on a daily basis, but based on the trust they have built up over the years, they are a team that can honestly admit their differences in opinion and work together.

On the other hand, the crimes they face are also becoming more diverse with the times. In the new season, they will depict not only cases that reflect the "current" world, but also various human dramas lurking in the background and the detectives who face them with all their might, in a complete episode format.

Tashiro Keisuke (Tanihara Shosuke), a reporter for Maichou Shimbun’s regional information desk, used to be the ace of the local news desk with a series of scoops, but was transferred to this department due to an offending article on a prefectural police’s dealings with bribes. Tashiro intends to come along for the “Famous Waters Special” trip organised by his colleague, Kizaki Kaori (Okamoto Rei). Their destination is his hometown, Kurumi Village, a mountain village famous for spring water and fireflies. Shukan Maichou’s well-known reporter, Kuno Shoichi (Kamikawa Takaya), is visiting the village with Kawashima Eiko (Aoyama Noriko), his junior during his time with the local news desk, to cover the whereabouts of a missing university professor, Yamakawa (Watanabe Kenkichi). Kuno is a gossip rag who is capable, but will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal. Arriving at the location, Tashiro starts taking photographs by a river in the mountains. Then he senses the presence of a person, but there is no one in the surroundings. While pursuing the unseen presence, he proceeds further along an animal trail and ends up slipping off a cliff. Realising that Tashiro is not with her, Kaori seeks the help of Kuno and Eiko and the three of them search around. They soon find Tashiro lying in the wilderness. Kaori and Eiko are concerned about his welfare, but Kuno picks up Tashiro’s camera and turns it on. The camera was in video mode at the time it was dropped and had captured a small hut in a dense fog. A man in a suit whose head was covered by a bag was being taken to this small hut … … Kuno concludes that the man in the suit is Professor Yamakawa and Tashiro contacts the police. Tashiro visits the police precinct and meets with detective Tsutsui Takanori (Takito Kenichi). He turns on the camera to show the recorded video to Tsutsui. However, the memory card is not inside. It appears to have been taken out by Kuno. Tsutsui refuses to investigate without proof, and delivers a parting shot on the article Tashiro had fabricated about the bribes of the prefectural police. Tashiro is frustrated, but is dragged by an indignant Kaori to start probing into what is happening in this village. ~JDrama Weblog~
