Back in 1938, when Korea was under Japanese colonial rule, Joo-Ran is transferred to an all-girl's boarding school in Keijyo (old name of Seoul). The principal there exhibits exemplary behavior to all of the students, but she ends up showing her darker side to Joo-Ran, who gets close to knowing the school's biggest secret. The girl learns of another student with the same name and she tries to figure out the hidden stories that happened at the girl students' dormitory.

Gao Yuan lost his parents when he was a child and was trafficked and trained to become a black market boxer. Although Sasha had both parents, she was sold to a brothel and turned into a prostitute by two cruel people. An accident made these two people with similar backgrounds meet. Wow! If you're about to watch "Imprint", you should prepare for sixty of the most intense and horrific minutes of your life, as Takashi Miike's contribution to the "Masters of Horror"-franchise is, in one word, perplexing! I have yet to see the director's acclaimed masterpiece "Audition" but, until then, this is definitely my most favorite piece of his work! The themes and style here are totally different to, say, "Itchi the Killer" or "Fudoh", but it's disturbing and terrifying on entirely different levels. The story is macabre and definitely has an Asian folklore feel to it, but the torture sequences and perverted sub themes are typically Takashi Miike; meaning very explicit, shocking and on the verge of sickening.

Detective Dee's Ghost Blood Hand

After being forced to resign from her publishing company job when her magazine goes out of circulation, office worker Haname Jinchoge is given the name of her real father-Noburo Jinchoge when her mother falls into a coma after nearly drowning in a pond while searching for kappa. Unsure if Noburo is her father, Haname decides to visit him but tells him that she is a distant relative, he happens to be the shopkeeper at an odd antiquities shop called Light Bulb Co., working for her father is a punk rocker named Gas.

Haname becomes fascinated with the various oddities and charm of Light Bulb Co., and discovers that she, like her father has a knack for selling things so she decides to become a shopkeeper herself. Customers are hard to come by, but she listens to her dad's strange advice-like filling a sink full of water whilst running errands makes life exciting. One day her father offers to sell her the key to the family warehouse for 1 million yen to fund his next trip, which she excitedly agrees to without thinking. However, when she discovers a shocking fact about Light Bulb Co. she chucks the key away in disgust. Later she realizes that she's been stubborn not telling Noburo he was her dad, but by the time she runs back to meet him he's already gone. Eventually Haname with the support of gas.

Woo-Gon (Kim Kang-Woo) works for a talent agency as a manager. He spots Mi-Jin (Ko Won-Hee) at an audition. Woo-Gon feels that Mi-Jin is special and has the potential to become a star. Because of Woo-Gon's efforts, Mi-Jin is cast in a movie, but this also causes his company to lash out at him for pushing Mi-Jin instead another one of their talents. Woo-Gon is fired. Later, Mi-Jin comes to visit Woo-Gon who is now working as a parking attendant. Mi-Jin asks him to work as his manager. Woo-Gon accepts and works hard to land parts for her. Soon, Mi-Jin is cast as the lead female character in a television drama series. Just as things seem incredibly promising for Mi-Jin, a shady tabloid scandal breaks out. Mi-Jin is identified as the woman involved in a sexual relationship with a well known politician (Ahn Sung-Ki). The source of the leaks are completely unknown. Woo-Gon tries to explain that the tabloid rumors about his client are completely untrue, but nobody listens. A few days later, Mi-Jin is found dead in her apartment. Woo-Gon then decides to find those responsible for spreading the false rumors about Mi-Jin.

In China, Xuie lives an impoverished life with her father who is far from helpful. She is living in Chongqing, the city of 40 million people. She works as a teacher, teaching Mandarin to foreigners. Even though she is from Chongqing, she doesn't speak in Chongqing dialect, rather talking in Mandarin which is the standard language of mainland China. One day, her father gets arressted because of prostitution and she is called to the police. One policeman comes closer to her and her mind is taken by him. In the crowded and busy streets of industrial developing city, Chongqing, Xuie dreams to escape from her painful and hopeless life.
