Sui Tang Yanyi begins in the 580s with the conquest of the Chen dynasty (557-589) by the Sui dynasty under Emperor Wen, and concludes with the return of the Tang dynasty's Emperor Xuanzong to the capital Chang'an in 758 near the end of the An Lushan Rebellion (755-763).

The plot is made up of three main story lines.

The first, with Emperor Yang of Sui and his concubine Zhu Gui'er (朱貴兒) as the central characters, covers the events in the political arena and inner palace in the final years of the Sui dynasty.

The second story line narrates a turbulent period known as the transition from Sui to Tang, when heroes such as Qin Shubao,Shan Xiongxin (單雄信), Cheng Yaojin (程咬金) and Xu Maogong rise up to overthrow the Sui dynasty, followed by stories of how Li Shimin (the future Emperor Taizong of Tang) defeated his rivals and eventually solidified the Tang dynasty's sovereignty over China.

The last story line tells of the romance between Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Consort Yang, and the events of the An Lushan Rebellion.

Seok-min's honest and yet impulsive behavior throws Hae-rin off. Nevertheless, ever since Seok-min gets involved in a critical situation on the naval base Hae-rin finds her heart drawn to Seok-min...

A sent-down youth who returns home after living in a rural area must deal with the consecutive tragedies in her life and a new family that she has never met before.

On Zhao Chun Lei's first day back in the city, she is devastated by the sudden passing of her father. Her stepmother Liu Feng Ying who has three children becomes the new head of the household. When world peace is threatened by the emergence of an international secret society of evil called the "Black Cross Army/Black Crusaders" (黒十字軍 Kuro Jūjigun), the United Nations sets up an international peace organization called "EAGLE" (EArth Guard LEague) (国際的平和組織イーグル Kokusaiteki Heiwa Soushiki Īguru) to combat the threat. This special army is distributed to various parts of the world (designated as "Blocks"). One of the largest "Blocks" is Japan. The "Black Cross Army/Black Crusaders", fearful of this united threat against them, decides to launch a surprise attack against the Japan EAGLE Block and sends five of its most dangerous cyborg operatives to attack Japan's various EAGLE branches. Across Japan the Black Cross Army decimates its targets, killing all those who oppose them. Yet from the ashes of these destroyed bases, five young recruits miraculously survive and vow vengeance. Given a special interlocking "key", the various survivors are summoned to snackshop "Gon", secret gateway to EAGLE Japan's main command center by Japan's EAGLE Commander Edogawa Gonpachi. There they are given special formfitting electronic battlesuits, which empower its wearer with various superhuman abilities. Edogawa tells them that they are the Secret Squadron "Gorenger", the world's best chance against the forces of the Black Cross Army. Armed with these battlesuits and other special weapons created by EAGLE scientists, they exact their revenge upon the Black Crusaders who killed their comrades and dedicate themselves to crushing the remaining forces of the Black Cross Army and its sinister leader, Black Cross Führer.

Hammad's strange encounter with Imaan, the daughter of Moulvi Aleemuddin, brings an immense change in his life. After leaving his house, Hammad takes a job at a porter which requires hard labour. In the quest to be suitable for Imaan, Hammad finds spirituality and the true meaning of religion along the way. Despite Hammad's efforts, Moulvi Aleem refuses to understand the idea of love marriage and is unable to forgive Hammad for being in love with Imaan. Due to family pressure, Imaan is forced to marry her cousin Abdullah and begs Hammad to return to his own family. Hammad unable to subside his affection for Imaan is adamant on marrying her. Under nerve-wrecking circumstances and constant tribulations, Imaan, unable to disobey her father and concurrently feeling sympathy for Hammad, falls critically ill. Meanwhile, Hammad constantly disagrees to return to his home, further aiding in the helplessness felt by Imaan.

the time of the Edo Period, an evil alien from parts unknown called Demon Scorpion plots to kill Tokugawa and ravage the land with the help of his Scorpion Ninja Army and his giant demon monsters. However, the shogunate summons his ninja bodyguards the Mitsurugi siblings, Ginga, Suisei and Gekko to combat this threat. When a giant demon appears and terrorizes the people, the three ninjas leap into the air and cross their swords to become the armored warrior Mitsurugi.
