The romantic horror centres on a man born with abnormal genes and a half-demon woman, who both long to be loved.

On the night of December 29th, Detective Kudo Yuji drives his car to see his mother, who is hospitalized with a serious health condition. He receives a phone call from the station police chief asking about his involvement in the creation of a slush fund. He also learns that that his mother has passed away. Yuji then accidentally hits a man with his car and that man dies. At the hospital, Yuji tries to cover up the death of the man he hit with his car by placing his dead body into his mother's casket. At that time, he receives a text message from Police Officer Yazaki. The text message warns "You killed a person. I know that."

“Single in Seoul” is a melodrama about two drastically different people who meet through an essay about the single life, and in the process, they rediscover their old wounds from past loves.

Lee Dong Wook is in talks to play Park Young Ho who thoroughly enjoys the single life and lives on the borderline of being emotional and being pretentious. He’s also a popular lecturer and an influencer with 300,000 followers. Im Soo Jung is in talks to play Joo Hyun Jin, Park Young Ho’s college junior and editor-in-chief who is in charge of the essay series titled “Single in the City”.

It tells the rise of Ito Jakuchu, a rich merchant turned talented artist in mid-Edo era Kyoto. He receives the support and admiration of his friend and mentor, Zen monk and poet, Daiten Kenjo. An apprentice from a toy shop in town, Iwajiro, who longs to become a famous artist himself, envies Jakuchu's connections and position.
