The Unbearable Lightness of Inspector Fan (Chinese: 暴走神探), also known as Shanghai Noir, is a 2015 comedy action romance suspense film directed by Clara Law. The film is a Chinese-Hong Kong co-production. It was released on January 16, 2015.

Tomoyo Harada is an average student in high school. She has an old friend Toshinori Omi who goes to the same school, and Ryoichi Takayanagi who is also her classmate, but is not quite the old friend she thinks he is. One day after a routine cleaning of the school’s chem lab, she starts to experience a time warp in her life where she experiences the same event multiple times. Quite by accident, she is getting drawn into the plan that came from the future. She soon discovers why she is experiencing the time warp.

Sung-Eun (Song Eun-Chae) and her friends Soo-Yeon (Jeon Hye-Bin) and Mi-Sook (Park Seul-Ki) likes boys, but Sung-Eun longs after someone with more experience. Sung-Eun then becomes attracted to new student teacher Kang Bong-Goo (Lee Jee-Hoon). As Sung-Eun pursues Bong-Goo, she doesn't realize about Bong-Goo's one flaw. Being bullied at school and suffering violence at home, Mi Rae, a middle school loner, lives on the border between reality and fantasy. The only places she feels restful are the computer game world, and the world in the novel she writes in her notebook. As her classmates Baek Hap and Tae Yang come close to Mi Rae, she gradually opens up her mind to them. In the meantime, the computer game service is terminated, and the world in her novel also disappears, leading Mi Rae to face a tough reality again.
