The background of the story of this TV series begins when the educated youth returned to the city in the late Cultural Revolution. By telling a love story amidst the rise and falls of three households because of the family’s entangled grudges.

Ms. Hua, a hardworking migrant who runs a hot-pot restaurant in Beijing, wants to get a registered permanent residence of Beijing for her son. Otherwise, her son can't study in the local school. Marriage brokerage sets up a date for her and a fitness instructor Mr. Liu, a local single man who can help her with that. But he also needs Ms. Hua's help because he wants money to restart his business. Therefore, they start a contract marriage because they both need something from each other. The couple find out that according to the laws and regulations, Mr. Liu has to own a property in order to get a registered permanent residence of Beijing for Ms. Hua's son. After getting to know Mr. Liu, Ms. Hua transfers the ownership of her house to him. Mr. Liu starts his business again. Unfortunately, he is in debt that he decides to get a divorce with Ms. Hua to save her trouble. But Ms. Hua has made up her mind to help him go through difficulties. Later, Ms. Hua's son finds about everything and doesn't want his mom to sacrifice her happiness for him. So Hua and Liu get a divorce. On the day Mr. Liu gets the repayment from his business and gives it to Ms. Hua, they decide to restart a life together with no contract.

It revolves around the relationship between a newbie and her highly temperamental boss that is a source of many misunderstandings and an eventual romance.

Former yakuza Haruo is finally released from prison after completing his sentence. With nine years worth of prison gratuities in hand, he stops at a restaurant to enjoy a good meal, but all of his money ends up being stolen. With nothing left, he spends the night at a net cafe, and he manages to look up his old friend from his yakuza days. When Haruo visits the next day, he learns that his old girlfriend Mariko was living with another man, but later died of illness. Haruo, who had committed murder 9 years earlier to earn the money for Mariko's medical treatment, is shocked and angered. He decides to track down that other man, who runs a bakery with his wife and daughter Sachi. Haruo later runs into Sachi at the park, but he has yet to find out the truth about her.

Kyonosuke Kawamura is the successor to the prestigious Kishima family. He performs as a kabuki stage actor. One day, as he is leaving the theater, Kyonosuke Kawamura hears cheers from girls who are waiting for him. There, Ayame Chiba, who also attends the same high school, approaches him and shouts out "that is not Kagamijishi and I want my money back!"

Due to excessive expectation as the successor of the Kishima family, Kyonosuke becomes sick and tired of kabuki. He plays with best friend Haruhiko Sakamoto and female fans until late into the night. When he arrives back home, his father Yozaemon, who is a master in kabuki, scolds him. An argument ensues. Yozaemon has never acknowledged Kyonosuke's efforts. That is a big reason why Kyonosuke has become estranged from kabuki. He also can't forgive his father for always placing kabuki as his first priority. His father did not show up when his mother became gravely ill and died.

Kyonosuke then meets Ayame at school. She again complains about his performance. Kyonosuke also learns that Ayame has a favorite actor. He's embarrassed by her complaints. For his next performance, Kyonosuke shows up practice, but he is chewed out by his instructor Matsukichi. Others, including Shohei Sawayama, watch this and make fun of Kyonosuke behind his back. Kyonosuke also hears from his rival Ichiya Sawayama that he was shocked at his performance. Kyonosuke feels numb.

Lui Fei-hap (Niki Chow), known as "Lui Hap", is a thirty-one year oldEmergency Unit sergeant of the Hong Kong Police Force, who has been let down in love many times; so when she finds her perfect man (Vincent Wong) she jumps at the opportunity, never suspecting that he is a drug baron (Vincent Wong) until she arrests him. A mother goose to her section, Lui Hap comes into conflict with her new commanding officer Madam Kiu (Mandy Wong), nicknamed by her subordinates as Madam Kill, when Kiu demands perfection of her section. Before long Lui Hap finds herself falling in love with new recruit Wong Tze-tsuen (Matthew Ko), only for A1 to stand in her way again. It turns out that it is her father, Boy Sir (Benz Hui), who is the mastermind of this and that A1 is his accomplice. Pushed to her limits both at work and in love, Lui Hap has no choice but to fight back in the name of love.

The serial marked comeback of Ali Rehman Khan after her last serial Khaas in 2019. The drama serial is directed by Shehrazade Sheikh who previously directed the Muqaddar which also stars Madiha Imam.[5]

Song Ki Baek is single and 33 years old. He works as an announcer at a broadcasting station. People consider him an ideal announcer. He is polite and well-mannered. One day, Song Ki Baek suffers from a disease which causes him to speak without thinking first. He now faces the biggest crisis of his life.

Meanwhile, On Woo Joo is an enthusiastic TV variety show writer. She becomes interested in Song Ki Baek’s harsh language, and she gets him to appear on her variety show.
