New Tales of the Gisaeng depicts the love, sadness and pain of people surrounding a gisaeng house, where only VIPs can enter.

Dan Sa Ran majored in dance while attending college. Her mother died when she was still young and her father remarried. Sa Ran comes from a poor family, but she maintains her dignity around friends who come from rich families. By chance, she meets Da Mo and falls for him, but doesn't tell him because of her poor background. A head gisaeng at Buyongkak recommended her to become a gisaeng.

Ah Da Mo takes business administration training at his father's company. He does not get along with his father, who only shows affection towards their pet dog. Da Mo is cocky and tends to look down on women. When he meets Sa Ran by chance, their relationship begins.

Captain Puri a skillful sniper with a very firm heart found himself wavering for the first time after meeting his first love again. Dr. Napaschon was working as a volunteer doctor in a village near the border between Burma and Thailand when she along with her best friend got kidnapped by a Burmese rebel troop. His mission is to return Dr. Napaschon back to Thailand. Although his heart always pined for her but her recent status has changed Dr. Napaschon is now his friend's girlfriend. Nothing is more torturous and hurtful than giving your whole heart away to someone who has no heart left to love you at all. The biggest obstacle for captain Puri is having to be in close proximity to her again. He has been through many missions before but this mission had him thinking hard. How can he restrain his heart? Between love and friendship, what will he choose?

Park Seok is the owner of the successful Café 2Dae coffee shop, a small but much-loved establishment with a group of loyal customers. He works alone in the coffee shop, and has not taken on any staff, even though his solo efforts are starting to take their toll on him. One day, a young man named Kang Go Bi comes to the coffee shop and samples Park Seok’s coffee. He immediately develops an earnest passion for coffee and convinces Park Seok to take him on as a part-time worker at the coffee shop. But Kang Go Bi soon proves that he really wants the older man to become his mentor and to learn how to become a proficient barista in his own right. The duo eventually forms a close bond and learns no end of life lessons from one another – while also helping bring a little warmth into the lives of their many and various customers.
