"Next Girlz" is a survival show where 54 female trainees, ages ranging from 13 to 28, are divided into six groups, with nine members in each group. The groups are represented by a brokerage company, and each team has its own representative crystal and colour that represent the different styles of the group.

This season differs from the previous seasons, as this season will have a live audience. The scoring of the trainees will be done by the audience and online popularity. The brokerage company will select the challenges. Some of the challenges are song adaptation and mentor collaboration. There is also a hidden mystery group that will be revealed after three months of competition. This will affect the outcome of the next round. The mentors will not participate in the scoring of the contestants.

In this year's show, there are a number of foreign trainees including from France, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and more, to attract international interest in the show and the new girl group.

Luo Dan Ni resents her life as an adult. It's a far cry from what she had imagined for herself when she was younger. She had been a bright student with a very promising future, but things didn't work out the way she had imagined. A car accident has her thrown back into her high school years, giving her a chance to change her life with the knowledge of an adult. She works furiously, making different decisions with the hopes of achieving the future she had imagined.
