Asako (Rie Miyazawa) lives in Kichijōji, Tokyo. She works as a popular manga artist. Everyday, she is busy meeting deadlines, but suddenly her pet Saba dies. Since the death of her pet, Asako cannot draw or even eat. Her editor Omori recommends to Asako to try moving to a particular house. After she moves in, her life does not get better. One day, when Asako walks in Inokashira Park, she meets a homeless person carrying a sick kitten. Asako wants to help the sick cat. Without telling the homeless person, Asako takes the cat to the hospital.

In Beijing, Li Hui Yan is a perpetually broke but sharp-witted police detective who lives in a modest traditional neighbourhood with his teenage son. He is forever trying to borrow money from his co-workers. Meanwhile, Zhou You is a funeral parlour worker troubled by his past, who is occasionally contacted by the police for cadaver removal to the morgue. One fateful day, he is called out to pick up a body and discovers the police has been duped by a fake death certificate – the dead man had actually been a murder victim. Li Hui Yan becomes curious and interrogates Zhou You, noticing that the latter is an extraordinary talented detective by his own right.

When one of his son’s school girl friends is kidnapped by two masked assailants, Li Hui Yan investigation leads him to a small icy town in the north. Zhou You’s father is murdered under violent circumstances at the same time. The murderers’ trail bring Zhou You back to his father’s mysterious home town, the exact same town…

The story features two people who experience their first loves late in life.

Maruya Kosuke is a 29-year-old employee at a beer manufacturer who works in the sales department and comes from a rich family that owns a brewery. Since young, he has been popular thanks to his good looks and always receives confessions of love from women. However, he gets a rude awakening one day when he realises that his cuteness has an expiry date.

Sanada Izumi works as a researcher in the same company as Kosuke and always thinks of herself as being secondary to others due to a past experience.

Qi Si Le needs to secure the Maolin planning project order in order to cover the surgery expenses for his daughter Xuan Xuan’s brain tumor. She relentlessly pursues Maolin’s boss, Song Hao Yu. Meanwhile, when Song Hao Yu is helping his son Chen Cheng choose a birthday gift, he notices that Qi Si Le is wearing a brooch identical to the one Chen Cheng has.

Following the clue of the brooch, Song Hao Yu gradually confirms the relationship between Xuan Xuan and Chen Cheng. In order to provide a complete family for the two children, Song Hao Yu proposes to Qi Si Le, and the two of them embark on marriage with an uncertain future.

A story that follows three men who are coming from their respective failed marriages. They decide to go to the same city to start a journey of healing. Bai Zhi Yong, Huang Jiu Heng, and Lan Tian Yu are three strangers from the same city. After experiencing heartbreak, they decide to start over at a new place where they meet the mysterious Jiang Xiao Mei. Through their time together, the four become good friends and learn to support each other through rough times and they come out of the journey with a renewed outlook towards family, love, and work.
