Branching out from the usual law enforcement themes is a Chinese drama that follows a team of investigators who make equally huge sacrifices in their mission to put a stop to counterfeit money.

Upon discovering 'superior' fake bills that cannot be detected by money scanners, police captain Qi Tian leads his subordinates Xiang Bei and Wei Xian Yu in cracking the case. Xiang Bei's brother-in-law Tang Song who happens to be at the scene is tempted by the potential for unimaginable wealth and gets into the business of producing counterfeits. As the police determine that there is more than one source of counterfeit money, a specialized team is formed to track down every culprit.

Hiroto Miyama is a poor lawyer who takes on criminal cases, but unable to make money. He pursues the truth for the 0.1% out of Japan's 99.9% conviction rate. One day, Hiroto is scouted by Haruhiko Madarame. Haruhiko Madarame is the head of Madarame Law Firm which is one of the biggest law firms among the 4 big law firms. Hiroto Miyama begins to work with Atsuhiro Sada. Atsuhiro Sada is a lawyer specializing in civil cases and makes lots of money for the law firm. He doesn't have any interest in criminal cases which can not make money.

In ancient time, there were two tribes in China, named Dong Ling and Jiu Li. For their own benefits, each tribe sent a group of their own people to Peach Blossom Hollow in search for a Mysterious Lady descended from the sky. Thus, emerged the legendary story of men, gods, and beasts.

The story uses a time-displaced character relationship to help solve a case spanning 25 years. It blends crime suspense with warmth. Through a series of cases triggered by a building fire in the 1990s, it tells the story of Hong Kong police pursuing justice and family bonds while showcasing the changes in Hong Kong’s urban culture and human relationships before and after its return to China.
