Senba Aizawa (Tamiyo Kusakari) is a 46-year-old housewife. Before she married, she worked at a bank, but quit her job after her marriage. One day, her husband (Yuichi Haba) asks for a divorce. He met his first love (Yoko Moriguchi) through social network site Facebook and now wants to marry her. The couple are now going through their divorce proceedings. In order to keep custody of her son, Senba Aizawa gets a job at a luxurious hotel. There, she meets Yusuke Takaoka (Koji Seto) who is the handsome heir of the luxurious hotel chain. Senba Aizawa begins to have feelings for the younger Yusuke Takaoka. 

When a young forestry officer, Din, gets involved with a gang of illegal smugglers, it causes him and Ken, a young man who has been in a relationship with him for more than seven years, to be chased away. They're both cornered and fall from a steep cliff.

After several months, Ken wakes up but without his lover by his side.

As the years go by, things start to go awry when someone appears and has a resemblance to his former lover. The old memories return and now circle around him. Ken begins to suspect that Din might not be dead, and that Din might be this new person.

Yuka Misaki, whose parents run a flower shop, casually begins dating college student Akio Asami, and later falls for him. But due to some type of accident, the two lose contact with one another.

One year after the accident, the two suddenly meet again. Yuka is still working at her father Shigeo's flower shop, and Akio is a teacher at a nearby high school.

It's January 7, just right after the New Year begins. Makeup classes are being held for students that aren't keeping up with their daily studies. Taking the classes are the popular Tadashi Otomo, and the leader of the delinquent students, Sho Takamatsu. And giving the lecturers is Noriko Sekiya, a teacher that has taken out all kinds of loans to pay for the popular brand items that she buys.

Yuka comes to the school to collect money from Noriko. While at the school, with thoughts of the past in the back of her mind, Yuka and Akio meet and get into a fight. Then all of a sudden, there is a small tremor, and after it subsides.

The highest number of times they have thrown the ball back and forth without dropping it is nine. They prefer the outfield because the infield is scary. Furthermore, they practice on the grounds only three hours a week. At other times, they study, study and study. But they love baseball. Finding them interesting and strange creatures, Aoshi decides that he will give his charges victory, guided by his offbeat theory “triumph is possible even if weak”. And then they seriously set their sights on the annual nationwide high school baseball championship with their brand of preposterous baseball.
