Hinana is a high school girl who wakes up at 5 am to prepare for school every day. She's also the Student Committee secretary. While she's quite serious, in reality, she actually dreams of one day finding herself a prince. When a famous actor, Ayase Kaede, shoots a movie at their school during golden week, the Student Committee's members have to act as extras. Hinana thinks Ayase is just like the prince of her dreams until she finds out that in reality, he's actually a pervert who has a butt fetish? A comedy romance starts.

"Although somewhat inferior to Nobuo Nakagawa's black and white version of a similar story, Borei Kaibyo Yashiki, this movie makes extensive use of its color footage, especially when showing the apparitions in a ghostly green light or the pond from the title tinted red. The furry cat-ghost-woman DOES look a bit ridiculous, as do some rather cheapish superimposed images, but the marvelous cinematography and the effective score still work pretty well to create a very creepy atmosphere. All in all, another example to make you wish more of these classic Japanese ghost chillers will be released for today's western audiences."

Nhum is a construction foreman working in Bangkok. The political instability in Thailand has made its presence felt in all business sectors. Nhum suddenly finds himself out of jobs. He decides to leave Bangkok to go back to his hometown in the northeast of Thailand to attend his high school friend’s wedding during the Thai New Year in April -- which also happens to be the hottest month of the year.

Nhum reunites with his old friends at the wedding in Khon Kaen. He also runs into Joy, a senior from his high school whom he used to have a crush on, and is now an office woman. They exchange their phone numbers.

Suddenly, the film turns into another direction. Some interview footage of the director’s father and brother is included, and we learn that the film is a semi-autobiography of the director’s life. The character of Nuhm is, nonetheless, as much a construct as it is real. From this point on, the film becomes the voyage of a young man into the labyrinths of the real and the imagined, the documentary and the fiction, the past and the present – and not only of his self but also of the Thai society writ large.

Tae Soo tries to steal from a gang. The gang catches Tae Soo's brother, Tae Jin, instead. The incident causes the brothers to separate. Tae Soo becomes a mob fixer and an assassin.
