Female journalist Miaomiao Fang accidentally snaps a photo of the top Korean star Zhun Hou in a restroom of a night club and finds out his dark personal life. Zhun tries to protect his image and force Miaomiao's magazine to fire her. Now, despite losing her job and apartment, the intrepid young woman has taken on a new mission in life: destroy Zhun at all costs.

The plot follows Princess Turandot, who is cursed by a mysterious power emanating from three Mazovian bracelets that were given to her as birthday gifts. These bracelets’ life-draining effects cause the princess to become cruel, and gradually lose her humanity.

Foreign princes who come to court her must solve three riddles, one for each bracelet, and only then will she be freed from the power of the bracelets. In the event any of the questions is answered incorrectly, the attempted solver would be put to death. One day, Calaf, an ordinary citizen, risks his life to answer the riddles to save her and inadvertently uncovers his own extraordinary past.

The setup for the TV musical competition program involves five musical directors as they each select one child actor to mentor. The directors then train their pupil and the TV musical competition eventually selects one child actor to play King Jungjo. Musical director Yoo Il-Han is one of the five music directors taking part in the television program. The first stage of the show involves each of the five musical directors turned away from the stage as they listen, but cannot see, various children auditioning for the TV program. Musical director Yoo Il-Han then selects a child named Young-Kwan (Ji Dae-Han), who turns out to be a half Filipino-Korean child. Once the first episode of the TV show program ends, Yoo Il-Han berates an assistant director of the TV program. He's furious he was allowed to pick a child, that he assumes has no chance of playing King Jungjo and blowing his chance to work on Broadway. Making matters worse for Yoo Il-Han, Young-Kwan possesses zero dancing abilities. Unable to change his selection, Yoo Il-Han half-heartedly begins to train Young-Kwan. He then begins to see something special in the child.

Ok Boon, aka the Goblin Granny, is a feisty, elderly woman who combs through the town for any sign of trouble. Over a span of 20 years, she has filed 8000 complaints to the district office. When Min Jae, a stickler Level 9 civil official, transfers over and asks the unstoppable granny, according to procedures, to take a number for her complaints, great tension rises. One day, Ok Boon witnesses Min Jae speaking English like a native, when she’s disheartened for not improving in English after many years of studying and begs him to teach her. Later, the unlikely duo, with absolutely nothing in common, begin having English lessons. As they spend more time together, they start to understand and communicate with each other and become close like family. Having always wondered why Ok Boon is so bent on learning English, Min Jae later learns that there is something she must say in English.

Jung Yup tries to find a job as a lawyer for a law firm in Seoul. It's not so easy for him, with Jung Yup being from a smaller city. In the meantime, he begins work at a child welfare center in his hometown. He goes with a co-worker from the child welfare center to the police station and meets 10-year-old Da Bin. The young girl reported to the police that her stepmother Ji Sook choked her around her neck, but there isn't anything Jung Yup is able to do. Da Bin is returned to her family. Da Bin and her 7-year-old brother Min Joon begin visiting Jung Yup at the child welfare center daily. He makes an effort to spend time with them to keep his job. Jung Yup is aware that the children are abused by their stepmother, but he is powerless to do anything about it.

Jung Yup then learns that he has been hired by a law firm in Seoul. Without saying goodbye to Da Bin and Ji Sook, he heads off to Seoul. One day, he receives a phone call that Da Bin has killed her younger brother Min Joon.
