While Nishimura Kanade was a 3rd grade middle school student, her father, who worked as a prosecutor, died in an incident. After her father’s death, she and her mother moved to her moved to her mother’s hometown in Nagano Prefecture. Nishimura Kanade wanted to become a prosecutor like her father, and she entered law school at a national university in Nagano Prefecture. There, she had 4 friends, including Nogi Masaki. They became really close friends and shared memorable experiences together. Due to a case involving a death, their relationship ended.

12 years later, Nishimura Kanade is now 35 years old and works as a prosecutor in the Yokohama District Public Prosecutors’ Office. Her boyfriend is Okuda Takashi, who works as a doctor, and they live together. One day, one of her law school classmates, who disappeared after the death case, appears in front of her. Nishimura Kanade must confront the suspicious death case from her law school days. This leads her to examine the truth behind her father’s death from 20 years ago and also the secret faces of her friends.

Dr. Bunnakit is a medical examiner based at a provincial hospital. One day, after carrying out an autopsy on the body of a woman who had seemingly hanged herself, Dr. Bunnakit rules out suicide, as his findings point to homicide. His conclusion suddenly makes him the target of someone very powerful.

When an anonymous man breaks into his house and threatens him to change his report to suicide, Dr. Bunnakit doesn't take this threat seriously. But that all changes when one of his friends, a prosecutor, suddenly disappears. Dr. Bunnakit quietly conducts his own investigation in order to get at the truth. All clues lead to one suspect, a man named Tan, who denies any involvement. Tan convinces Dr. Bunnakit to team up together in order to find the real murderer.

Jung Ae has three daughters: Hye Shin, Yoo Shin and Soon Shin. Hye-Shin, the oldest daughter, married a competent man and has a daughter. She has just arrived back from Hong Kong with her daughter, but without her husband. Yoo-Shin, the middle daughter, looks down upon younger sister Soon Shin. Soon Shin and entertainment company president Joon Ho then physically bump into each other. Joon Ho becomes covered with the food that Soon-Shin was serving. He becomes so angry that he asks the hotel manager to fire Soon-Shin, even though she begs him not to.

On the way home, Soon Shin meets a man who introduces himself as a president of an entertainment company. He tells Soon-Shin that she has the looks to become a talent and gives her his name card. Soon Shin goes back home excited. Her mother has prepared a festive dinner to celebrate Hye Shin's return from Hong Kong. During dinner, Soon Shin tells everyone that she was scouted on the street, but middle sister Yoo Shin again acts condescending towards her. Soon Shin bursts into anger. Even though her family laughs at her and thinks it's ridiculous, her mother Jung Ae thinks differently.
