Ban Chok Dee is a large, isolated rental house in a remote suburb. The main post of the house was made from a teak tree, which is possessed by a spirit of a nymph. Almost every house usually has one. The wood used to build it also has a ghost. The mystery or origin of each piece of wood tells the story of various people’s lives that have been involved in this house. When good people come, the ghost will provide help and protection. But if they are bad, the ghost will harm them. It teaches that doing good deeds brings good results and doing evil things brings bad results.

Ye Ke Le, an unlucky person, operates a tea shop in Wanle City that his father left him. Unexpectedly, he becomes entangled in a mysterious murder case involving a strange perfume. To assist in the investigation, he becomes a patrol guard, unintentionally turning into a spy. Bizarre events continue to occur, and the clues become increasingly convoluted. He meets a Japanese girl named Ruo Ye and, based on Japanese spice clues, deduces to Princess Qi. Ye Ke Le falls in love with Princess Qi at first sight. To clear his name and find Princess Qi, he uses his sensitive nose to search for clues. The clues were missed due to a broken river bank. He then traces it back to Jiu Ruo Shui and Lan Qing Yue using wine and on-site evidence. Lan Qing Yue is silenced, Jiu Ruo Shui awakens, rebels against the true instigator, and with the accidental guidance of Xiao Qi and the help of Ruo Ye, they discover that the mastermind behind it all is an insider from the royal palace.

The fox demon, Boqiu, endured a thousand years of solitude and a tortured love across nine lifetimes to break the curse afflicting his beloved, Su Xiaohuan, which caused her to tragically die in each cycle.

In this lifetime, Su Xiaohuan met her demise at the hands of Boqiu. Raised in the streets, Su Xiaohuan experienced the ups and downs of human society, surviving with her audacious and thick-skinned personality. She was later manipulated by the deposed Crown Prince Xuanyuan Qingchuan of the former dynasty, who sent her to the imperial palace, placing her beside the notorious bloodthirsty fox demon, rumored to be the one she sought revenge against.

Unexpectedly, due to fate, she once again fell in love with the fox demon without realizing it. In this lifetime, Boqiu chose to break free from the bonds of destiny by sacrificing himself, rather than acknowledging his beloved, in order to sincerely love and influence the world, ultimately breaking the curse that plagued Su Xiaohuan.

The next morning, Takeyama wakes up in a tree house in the woods. This is the office of the odd job business run by Matsui Hideo and Umemoto Soichi, whom he had met at the pub that he stopped by. Takeyama learns that yesterday night’s welcome had arisen because of some misunderstanding. He wants to get to Furano without delay, but he has lost his memory together with his mobile phone and wallet. Now he has no choice but to stay in this town.
