In 2013, Ko Osawa (Sho Sakurai) works as sous-chef at a first-class hotel. He cooks French cuisine. His job at the hotel requires him to cook for hundreds of customers, but Ko Osawa prefers to cook for a single customer. One day, he happens to see a pamphlet inquiring about a chef available to work at a diplomat office. Ko ends up taking the job and quits his job at the hotel. 2 years later, Ko now works as the chef at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam. Ko then takes part in a cook-off against the chef at the French Embassy.

Inspector Umizuki Chinami (Takei Emi) is a career elite and yet treated as a burden. But this weighs on Chinami’s mind. Before long, she finds out the source of the gun that was used to shoot Sugimoto. This brings her to Kanto Natsume-kai. For some reason, Yuta’s mother is there. She learns that Yuta’s father, Akiba (Hakamada Yoshihiko), a skilled workman, was abducted by Kanto Natsume-kai and made to be a dealer at an illegal casino. Sugimoto had run up debt of 20 million yen at this casino. They finally establish a link to the case and think that the case can be solved. But it is not that simple. The illegal casino has been taking place at the embassy which Japanese police cannot enter because of diplomatic immunity. Chinami has until April to solve the case. The members of the Eighteenth Section, who have quickly learnt about Chinami’s transfer, work hard in an attempt to send her off without bringing dishonour to her name, but they have just one month … …

One day, the owner of "Tsuru-ka", Taneichi, employed young Fuki to be the attendant for customers' shoes. Mio could fully empathize with young Fuki, who was an orphan and yet was courageous enough to survive on her own. Around the same time, the famous novelist Seiemon started coming to "Tsuru-ka". Even though Seiemon criticized Mio's cooking each time, he always returned to the restaurant daily. Remembering the words spoken by the samurais that had last seen Komatsubara, "Tokei no Ma", Mio was very tempted to ask Seiemon the meaning of the words! Meantime, "Tsuru-ka"'s rival restaurant, "Toryuro" was always serving food that was similar to Mio's latest creation. Even before Mio had a chance to offer them on "Tsuru-ka"'s menu. It happened repeatedly, which left Mio puzzled and troubled by it all. To add to her worries, Mio heard from Mataji that her dear childhood friend, Noe, who is one of the top oiran (prostitutes) in Yoshiwara (red-light district of Edo), was injured while trying to protect another prostitute from being slashed by a patron. Mio's despair at not having been able to help Noe escape her fate at Yoshiwara all those years ago threatened to overwhelm her completely. Especially since her fellow housemate, O-Ryo's son was stricken by the life-threatening measles at the same time...

Sayama Taku is a doctor and runs Sayama Kodomo Clinic, which specializes in child psychiatry. Even though his family owns a general hospital, he refuses to get involved in their general hospital. Komukai Riko is a young single woman and works for an event planning company. She is considered average in regards to her personality and appearance. One day, her co-worker mentions person of a mass production model. Komukai Riko asks herself if she could be such a person for a mass production model and she answers her question affirmatively. Around this time, she happens to see plastic model Zaku at a neighborhood store. Zaku is a robot from TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. She becomes interested in plastic models and challenges herself to make her first plastic model.

Hakamada Yukio is a competent, mysterious lawyer who only handles settlement cases because of past experiences. Although his scathing words get on clients’ nerves, his primary consideration is their welfare. His philosophy that “love is something that can never be bought with money. But if a client is able to have genuine resolve, I’ll certainly get the compensation and give the push for a fresh start” is the basis for the problems that he solves one after another.

This new season is set in an entirely new universe, with Riko this time portraying the president of a start-up company called Dream Crazy.

Kazu, Keisuke, Ippei and Tadashi all work at the same advertising company and stay at the same company dormitory. They struggle to deal with their customers, but they like working in advertising. Their only outlet to relieve their stress is to have dinner together on Fridays.
