The client happens to be Kishimura Rika, a lawyer who is potentially being targeted due to a grudge against her in regard to a case she was in charge of. Because of this, she has to be under strict security 24 hours a day. Tatsunosuke, who is serious and stoic in nature, is largely inflexible and, naturally, not a good match for Rika, who hates being restricted. However, as they start to live together, their feelings toward each other begin to change.

Story 1: Chichi to Ko

Synopsis: Toho Akihiro (Ishimaru Kanji) opposed his boss and resigned from the large consulting firm he had been working for. His father, Hideo (Takahashi Gentaro), is the owner of a convenience store in the countryside. It is his daily routine to talk to regular customers and he also gets along well with his staff. Because business has been poor, he seeks his son’s help. Akihiro comes to revamp the store by making use of his experience as a consultant. At first, sales increases, but father and son clash over the complete change in management policy which disregards regular customers. Then Hideo collapses and Akihiro works the night shift. He is confronted with an electricity disruption around the store due to a downpour. He realises something that his father had prized above running the store while under pressure to deal with the situation.

The lady is an ordinary customer whom Satomi had occasionally seen before, but she does not understand the reason for her becoming a complainer. Satomi recalls some incident from the woman’s daily visit to the store to purchase daifuku, and decides to go to her house in order to talk to her personally. Synopsis: Inubushi Kazuma (Mizobata Junpei) works the night-shift at a convenience store. She claims that she became a detective to establish proof of Toshi Densetsu and dreams of officially announcing some day that Toshi Densetsu is involved in a case she investigated. When cases happen, she will always consider its associations with the manga. Because of that, the better part of the formal investigation would appear to be wrong. She feigns illness to slip out from work and stealthily proceed with her own investigation based on her theory that Toshi Densetsu is the cause. This angers Tannai every time.

Otonashi Tsukiko has returned from New York, it seems. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) had set up a new unit called UIU (Unscientific incident Investigation Unit), and Tsukiko has returned from her assignment at the FBI to join this new unit.

High school detective Kudo Shinichi and his childhood friend, Mori Ran, hear a male voice shout right after coming out of a nail salon on the first floor of an apartment building. When they rush over to the scene at the entrance of an apartment, cameraman Tsuboichi Yuhei is bleeding from his forehead and his assistant Kishi has collapsed. Shinichi and Ran burst into the apartment to discover that Aida Momoko, the model who lives there, has died. An investigation is conducted. Kishi gives evidence that he had been hit with what seemed like an iron bar by a man who darted out of the room. Tsubouchi says he would like to have the murderer arrested. He is the dead Momoko’s brother-in-law. Shinichi feels something is wrong with Tsubouchi and Kishi’s statements. If the attacker was the same person, he should have struck Momoko with the bar too, but Momoko was strangled by a pair of hands. This makes Shinichi turn his suspicion toward Tsubouchi. Will he be able to expose the murderer’s secret trick and arrive at the truth?
