Yoshino Hikari has a bright and friendly personality. She works at a credit association in her hometown. To pursue her dream of doing pet related work, she moves to Tokyo and begins to work at a pet salon. Unfortunately, the pet salon goes bankrupt. Bailiff Obara Itsuki carries out his work at the pet salon and becomes impressed with Yoshino Hikari. Obara Itsuki is not comfortable around dogs, but all the animals seem to like Yoshino Hikari. Due to Obara Itsuki, Yoshino Hikari begins to work as a bailiff assistant and teams up with Obara Itsuki.

Meanwhile, Kurihashi Yusuke is a clerk at the bailiffs’ office. He used to work at a bank and wants to become a lawyer. While working at the bailiffs’ office, Kurihashi Yusuke learns about the law. He develops unexpected feelings for Yoshino Hikari.

In 2023 in Tokyo, Prime Minister Eiichi Higashiyama pushes for COMS at the World Environment Conference. COMS is a method to liquify pollutants and store it in the crack of the sea floor. Prime Minister Eiichi Higashiyama gathers young and talented bureaucrats and launches Japan Future Promotion Conference, which is to benefit the future of Japan. Keishi Amami of the Ministry of the Environment and Koichi Tokiwa of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry are members of that conference.

One day, Yusuke Tadokoro’s article is published in a weekly magazine. His articles warns that Kanto region will sink into the sea. Due to his article, groups begin to hold protests. To ease the situation, Keishi Amami meets with Yusuke Tadokoro, but Yusuke Tadokoro insists that in the near future, Izu Peninsula will sink and that will portend the Kanto region sinking. Around this time, Minori Shiina, who is a weekly magazine reporter, talks to Keishi Amami about possible corruption between a company and the Ministry of Environment. Keishi Amami is uncomfortable dealing with everything, but he takes part in his hobby and goes scuba diving with Koichi Tokiwa. There he faces a shocking event.

The Class Chairman who has never eaten donburi (rice bowl dish) in her life was amazed as she enjoyed the oyakodon prepared by Yoshida. She then ordered Yoshida to prepare more donburi as she continues enjoying every one of them.

One day, a detective investigating a murder case comes to Teiichiro. A man named Sugiyama, arrested for alleged murder, claims his alibi is that he had met with Teiichiro at the time of the incident. In fact, on that day, Teiichiro enjoyed a secret meeting with his lover, Tomohisa, and accidentally met with Sugiyama, but pretended to not remember. However, Teiichiro, who was mentally driven to lose his relationship with Tomohisa and lost his family and work, falsely remembers that he did not meet Sugiyama on that day.

Dokuryu Town, the town of the One-Eyed Dragon, Date Masamune, near Sendai City, has an ageing population and large outlets line the national highway. All those present get excited as they imagine a historical procession of Miyagi’s hero, Masamune, and the beautiful Mego-hime, wearing gorgeous clothes. But Tojiro has another objective. He will play the role of Masamune and take advantage of this opportunity to propose to his childhood friend, Otokozawa Miki (Kuriyama Chiaki). However, strangely dressed men who idolise the One-Eyed Dragon apply to participate. They brandish swords and intimidate their surroundings. This outrageous behaviour infuriates the few women around who end up leaving. It develops into an emergency situation where it becomes necessary for the men to dress as women for the roles of the bride and her attendants to pull off the bridal procession. Many men get cold feet and flee when Ono appears with make-up, urging them that they have no choice but to do this in order to revive the town. There are a mere five remaining members including Ono and Tojiro. They learn Masamune’s teachings on fortitude as they start rigorous domestic training such as make-up, feminine behaviour and dance. However, contrary to Tojiro’s wishes, the male bridal procession gets thrown into extreme chaos …

During the Edo period, 17-year-old Ochika built an emotional wall against others after a murder occurred in her family which runs an inn the post town of Kawasaki. She now stays at Mishimaya, the bag shop which her uncle, Ihei, opened in Edo’s Kanda Mishima-cho, and works silently every day. One day, Ihei summons Ochika to ‘Kokubyaku no Aida’ where he always welcomes his rival in the game of go. He instructs her to listen to the 100 odd horror tales from the people who come to visit, and then leaves. Ochika slowly begins to open her heart to their curious tales …

Uno Meiko is the daughter of parents who run a western style restaurant in Tokyo. She marries and moves to Osaka with her husband. Meiko experiences cultural differences between Tokyo and Osaka, as she lives as a mother and wife in Osaka.

The drama will use an original story that differs from the manga, revolving around 12 people who obtain a “future diary,” which allows them write down “predictions” of the future that will come true. However, they are all part of a game of survival, in which they must use their diaries to try to kill each other and be the last one remaining, earning a place on the “God’s seat.”

Okada plays Hoshino Arata, a lazy college student who doesn’t believe in spending effort or working toward the future. One day, he gets a diary (the “future diary”) on his mobile phone, and he becomes involved in the game of survival.

The plot revolves around a young man named Nagashima Kyohei who has felt emotionally detached due to a traumatic incident in his high school days. However, when he takes a job sorting through the personal belongings of the deceased, he's forced to face the concept of life and death. He eventually develops a relationship with a co-worker named Yuki Kubota, which allows him to open up a little more, but he soon discovers she has a dark past of her own.
