Despite being a bit of a prickly pear, Jang Jae Yeol has become famous for authoring mystery novels and for hosting a popular radio show. While sitting on a talk show panel with psychiatrist Ji Hae Soo, it became clear to all that the two just rubbed each other the wrong way. The unthinkable happens when Jae Yeol’s girlfriend plagiarizes his work, forcing him to lie low until the media storm blows over. Only then can he prove his innocence. Jae Yeol moves into a house he owns but rents out. One of the current tenants, is none other than Hae Soo, unwittingly making them roommates. Add to the mix Jo Dong Min, Hae Soo’s senior colleague and fellow psychiatrist, and Park Soo Kwang, a young man with Tourette’s Syndrome. As personalities clash, Jae Yeol and Hae Soo help the other heal from their deeply-rooted emotional scars.

The drama is set in the early 70s. The period when poverty ruled everything, but there's hope, and people who were happy because of their families. They are the main characters of this drama. The two brothers who have only youth and spirit, Suk Jin and Chul Jin and Min Joo, Yun Shil's love, the big and small setbacks of life. And through the process of overcoming it, it refers to the infinite possibilities of youth, the most beautiful period of life.

Kong Hyo Jin, Lee Chun Hee, and Jeon Hye Jin ambitiously present a carbon-free life challenge in an unfamiliar place. PD Baek Seung Chan decided to work at the entertainment division of KBS television network because of his secret crush on a KBS employee. Several years ago Kong-Sil (Kong Hyo-Jin) was involved in an accident. Since that incident, Kong-Sil is able to see and hear ghosts. She's also terrified of the ghosts that appear constantly around her. Because of this, she's unable to live a normal life. Kong-Sil lives in a rooftop room at an extended stay inn. She makes a living by doing odd jobs at the inn, including cleaning.

Meanwhile Joong-Won (So Ji-Sub) is the president of an extravagant shopping mall named Kingdom. He is also arrogant and calculative. Everything relates to him in terms of money.

One raining evening, Kong-Sil goes to room 404 to clean, but she sees another ghosts. She freaks out and runs up to her rooftop room. The ghost, who looks like an old woman, appears right next to her again. Kong-Sil then does the old woman ghost a favor and goes to her home. She hands the ghost's son a bankbook with more than 10,000 dollars in the account.

Joong-Won sits face to face with a man who owns land that he needs to build a golf course. The man tells Joong-Won that his deceased wife does not want him to sell the land. Joong-Won doesn't believe in ghosts and ignores him. He pulls out a contract which the man's children already signed. Joong-Won is able to get the man's signature.

On his way back from that meeting, Joong-Won is driven by his assistant (Choi Jung-Woo). The driver then sees a woman thumbing for a ride. Joong-Won tells his driver to ignore the woman, but a light suddenly shines on them and the car stops. At this time, Kong-Sil hops into the car and thanks them for picking her up. Kong-Sil unintentionally touches Joong-Won and feels something unusual. Later, the car pulls over at a highway rest stop. While walking back to the car, Joong-Won sees Kong-Sil talking to someone, but there isn't anyone else there. Thinking she might be crazy, Joong-Won turns around, but Kong-Sil grabs his arm. She discovers that whenever she touches him, the ghosts around her disappear.

Back at her rooftop room, Kong-Sil is terrified by the ghosts around her as usual. She thinks back to Joong-Won and how the ghosts disappeared when she touched him. Kong-Sil decides to go Kingdom shopping mall to meet Joong-Won again.

29-year-old Me Sook is the most unpopular teacher at school. She used to be a Russian language teacher at a high school but was relegated to a middle school to teach English which she can't even understand. She also has a chronic blushing problem, often afraid to even lift her face up. But to top it off, she is in love with another married teacher, Mr Seo, and believes that he feels the same but is just too shy to show his feelings.

So when she finds out that he's having an affair with an attractive Russian teacher who took her place in high school, Me Sook decides to take action. Hiding her true intentions, she forms an alliance with Mr. Seo's daughter, Jong Hee, the most unpopular student at school. Jong Hee cooperates with Me Sook to save her father's marriage. They plot ways to separate the lovebirds, becoming friends in the process and also slowly falling into their own trap.

Although at first unwillingly, Jo and Gong later become the best of sister/brother-in-law. They depend on each other for help, trouble, and fun. Oh Yuhn Soo, Jo's wife, is grateful at the happy relationship, but things go astray when Gong grows a greater affection for Jo. When Gong confesses her feelings for Jo, the two start to grow apart. Although they later end up in the same police department, they try hard to avoid eachother, and Oh starts to realize the reason why. Kim Rae Won is Gong's friend and the son of a rich hotel owner. Although he knows that Gong likes her brother-in-law, he never gives up his feelings for her. Things seem to turn out alright when Gong starts to date Kim and forget about Jo, but her sister Oh dies. The dangerous yet innocent love for her brother-in-law puts Gong in a terrible situation...how is love different in a family?

On a space station in the not-too-distant future, two guests arrive early for a wedding, and the older tells the younger a story about the groom's father, who had been a well-known entertainer, and his selfish wife. The story, which starts in Seoul in 2002, is a bizarre love triangle of a comedian who never smiles, a Taekwondo instructor, and a whining woman who wants to be a TV star but who'll do anything to avoid being poor.

But the most important part of his day is going to school. Firstly, to meet the expectations of his followers and to frequently make his presence known, he has to fight other groups trying to take over his position. But not long before his pink puppy love starts, his cozy life becomes threatened by a newcomer. One day, Jung-Pil hears that a transfer student named Sang-man suddenly appeared like a gushing storm and wants to take over the school. Not only the students, but even his righthand man Soo-Dong try to incite a fight between Jung-Pil and Sang-Man, which would become a legend in itself. Go Bok Su has had a difficult childhood and served time in prison for stealing. Jeon Kyung, a moody tomboy and a daughter of a rich family, plays the keyboard as a member of an unknown indie rock band. The vocalist of Kyung's band is diagnosed with a brain injury from an accident, and while the band members are trying to earn money for the surgery, Bok Su steals Kyung's wallet. Bok Su decides that their meeting was fate, leaves his long-time girlfriend Mi Rae, and follows Kyung around trying to win her heart. One day Bok Su finds out he has a terminal illness and doesn’t have much time left, and his life begins to change.

Min Ah discovers a scarlet-covered diary as she is hurrying to school. She has a brief hallucinatory experience when she opens it, initiating a series of strange occurrences which eventually draw Min Ah into the eerie world of the diary. In her desire to find out more about the diary, Min Ah feigns an illness, getting permission to lie down in the school's clinic.

There she witnesses the reunion of Hyo Shin and Shi Eun. The day in the girls' high school is half over, and the students are preoccupied with the trauma of getting their physical checkups. Suddenly their hustle and bustle are abruptly interrupted by a sharp scream which announces the death of Hyo Shin. Soon, her ghostly entity will linger over everyone's secret.

Dr. Min Ki Seo went to Blue Island to fulfill his deceased girlfriend's last wish to find the single mother and her little girl who was infected by HIV and to apologize to them on her behalf as she had unknowingly given the girl tainted blood when she was being treated at the hospital. Lee Young Shin, the single mom, was having a hard time caring for her grandfather who has Alzeimer's and keeping her daughter's HIV condition a secret while teaching her how to live with it. Min Ki Seo was an arrogant person who looked down on people and in meeting Lee Young Shin who accepted her fate and tried to make the best of it despite all odds, he slowly changed for the better and became a warm and caring person.
