A girl who loves to sing, Nino Arisugawa experiences her first heart-wrenching goodbye when her beloved childhood friend, Momo, moves away. And after Nino befriends Yuzu, a music composer, she experiences another sad parting! With music as their common ground and only outlet, how will unrequited love play out? Working as an ordinary artist on Bai Ze's comic project The Legend of Demon Sea has aspiring artist Feng Xue feeling like wasted talent. To vent his frustration, he begins another version the project, filling the illustrated adventures of an alchemy master with mythic parallels to his daily grind. With his comics Feng takes vengeance whenever he's slighted or passed over in the studio, drawing his colleagues and boss into unflattering scenes. But when Bai Ze discovers an illustrated version of himself suffering under Feng's brush, he's far from angry. He praises Feng Xue for his originality, and takes the new draft to his boss. This is when Bai Ze also learns what it means to be frustrated at work, challenging him to choose between what he believes in and what his job demands.

High school student Mariko (Ando Sakura) sings in the choir at the all-girls school she attends, and her biggest dream right now is to go to a music college. One day on her way home from school, she accidentally drops her bookbag into the sea. A man (Sasaki Takao) jumps into the water and recovers the bag for her, but all of her score sheets have been ruined. From that day on, Mariko's new acquaintance becomes her bodyguard, walking her home everyday. But for some reason, he refuses to tell her his name.

When the rest of the kids at school break up for their summer holidays, Masao (Sekiguchi), a young lad who lives with his grandmother, finds himself home alone. With nothing better to do, he sets off to visit his estranged mother in Toyohashi, whom he has not seen since he was a baby. Meanwhile when Kitano's clueless reprobate, the unemployed mobster wannabe Kikujiro, finds himself hanging around at a bit of a loose end too, he is sent off packing by his wife with 50,000 Yen in his pocket to escort the young scamp and make sure he is delivered safely.

A woman arrives at Seol Won hospital by car with her sister stabbed and unconscious. From the shocking accident, she can’t even speak properly. Police officer Hyun Ju arrives at the hospital and recalls herself while watching Do Kyung, who refuses to be treated to take care of her sister. Hyun Ju, who does the given tasks indifferently like a machine, investigates the case actively out of compassion for Do Kyung. However, the case becomes a mystery when it is revealed that the woman in the hospital is not Do Kyung’s real sister, and the actual sister was a nurse who worked at the hospital in the past, and the person who will be Do Kyung’s brother-in-law was also on the scene.

Korean auteur director Hong Sang-soo creates a cryptic romance shot beautifully in Black & White. The story captures a love triangle-like relationship between a filmmaker, his enigmatic young female assistant, and his friend is told twice, with the second version retelling their affair in a different light. Soo-jung (Lee Eun-ju) is a Cable TV writer who is working with Young-soo (Mun Seong-kun), the producer of the same team. He goes with her to an art exhibition held by his former junior student, Jae-hoon (Jeong Bo-seok). Jae-hoon is fascinated by Soo-jung, and wants to date her. They hit it off, and begin dating. But when they're about to have sex, Soo-jung confesses she is still a virgin. Jae-hoon is turned off by that, and their relationship is ruined. Jae-hoon, who still loves her, decides to make a second attempt, when the two come across each other at a party. But will Soo-jung be so forgiving? The film captured several awards including Grand Bell's Best New Actress Award for Lee Eun-ju, who later would tragically commit suicide at a tender age of 24 while at the height of her blossoming career.

14-years-old Midori, who doesn't have a family, is picked by the Aka Neko circus troupe. Wanda Masamitsu has supernatural powers and he joins the same circus troupe. Midori has an affinity for Wanda, but she is afraid of him. Wanda gets members of the circus troupe to follow him using his supernatural powers and even commits murder.
