After terminally ill Bussan finally passes away he misses hanging out with his still living friends and decides to return to Kisarazu. Tsugumi Dozono (Nana Eikura) works at a large electronics company in Tokyo. She likes to spend long vacations at her grandmother’s house in the countryside. One day, her grandmother passes away and Tsugumi Dozono decides to live in her grandmother's house while working from home. She finds a strange middle-aged man in the house. The man's name is Jun Kaieda (Etsushi Toyokawa).

Jun Kaieda tells Tsugumi that he is her grandmother’s ex-student and her grandmother gave him a key to the annex house. Tsugumi, who does not know the exact relationship between her grandmother and Jun, begins to live with him.

Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido, is the northernmost zoo in Japan. The unpopular zoo welcomes a new zoo keeper, young Yoshida (Yasuhi Nakamura), who has more affection for insects than people after years of being bullied at school when he was young. In 1973, Gamera sacrifices his life to rid the world of the Gyaos once and for all. Three years later, a small boy who witnessed the event named Toru finds a mysterious egg. From it, hatches a small Turtle. Toru and his friends raise the turtle, who turns out to be a small Gamera. After a new man eating creature named Zedus, it's up to the small Gamera to save the world as the previous Gamera had done before.

Five minutes before a live broadcast, there is a tip-off call from someone who says he's going to be murdered to the anchor of the broadcasting station, Se Ra. Se Ra tries to consider it a prank call but feels disturbed. Her mother, So Young, tells her that it's a chance to become a real anchor. Se Ra heads to the informant's house and witnesses Mi So and her daughter's body. After that day, the image of dead Mi So begins to appear in front of Se Ra.
