A series of grotesque and brutal murders happens on rainy nights, all of them supposedly done by a man wearing a frog mask. Detective Hisashi Sawamura is the first to notice the connections and sets on a pursuit. Soon, he will come to a terrifying revelation that his own family might be the next target.

At the beginning of their third-year school, Takumi is looking forward to see his boyfriend Gii after the school break. Takumi will no longer be Gii's roommate, while Gii, who is now the third floor's dorm head , has his own room. He soon discovers that since Gii's return from New York, not only has his appearance changed but also his attitude towards him and the others. Besides being cold and avoiding him on purpose, Gii even suggests they stop seeing each other for a while. Deeply affected by the sudden change in Gii's attitude and rejection, Takumi's human contact phobia relapses. Synopsis from Midnight Eye: A sumptuous and at times super-charged swordplay fantasy, Gojoe puts the spin on one of Japan's most popular feudal legends: the battle at Kyoto's Gojoe Bridge. Though its multitude of characters and warring factions might make Gojoe somewhat confusing to Western eyes, the basic storyline is simple: warriors of the Heike clan get their heads chopped off by an invisible force at Gojoe bridge. Benkei, a former Buddhist monk plagued by the demons of his own past, sets out to destroy the evil force that lurks at Gojoe, aided by his graverobbing sidekick Tetsukichi. They soon discover that the perpetrator is in fact a young warrior, a former lord named Shanao, out for revenge against the clan that ordered the death of his family. The fact that Sogo Ishii, the creator of such contemporary punk masterpieces as Burst City (Bakuretsu Toshi, 1982) and Crazy Thunder Road (Kuruizaki Sandaa Rodo, 1980) is at the helm should be an indication that this is not your average swords-and-kimonos adventure. Gojoe plays less like a jidai geki than a true Ishii film in period garb. Elements and themes from his films from the 1990s - spiritualism, the metaphysical, man being a small but essential part of the greater cosmic scheme - are combined with a resurgence of the boundless energy of his work from the 80s.

Musical director Yoo Il-Han (Kim Rae-Won) is arrogant and has no qualms exaggerating the lengths of his talents. He was once a promising musical director, but, after the box-office failure of a big budget musical, he now works on children's musicals. Nevertheless, Yoo Il-Han dreams of one day working on Broadway in New York City. His big chance then arrives. A TV musical competition program is set out to select the main child actor for a big budget musical of King Jungjo from the Joseon Dynasty. The musical will be performed on Broadway. The setup for the TV musical competition program involves five musical directors as they each select one child actor to mentor. The directors then train their pupil and the TV musical competition eventually selects one child actor to play King Jungjo. Musical director Yoo Il-Han is one of the five music directors taking part in the television program. The first stage of the show involves each of the five musical directors turned away from the stage as they listen, but cannot see, various children auditioning for the TV program. Musical director Yoo Il-Han then selects a child named Young-Kwan (Ji Dae-Han), who turns out to be a half Filipino-Korean child. Once the first episode of the TV show program ends, Yoo Il-Han berates an assistant director of the TV program. He's furious he was allowed to pick a child, that he assumes has no chance of playing King Jungjo and blowing his chance to work on Broadway. Making matters worse for Yoo Il-Han, Young-Kwan possesses zero dancing abilities. Unable to change his selection, Yoo Il-Han half-heartedly begins to train Young-Kwan. He then begins to see something special in the child.
