Kiichiro Ota has recently begun work at an advertising agency. He is then forced to participate in the world's biggest TV Advertising Festival as a judge. There's parties held there every night and Kiichiro is paired with Hikari Ota, who shares the same family name, to act like husband and wife there.

At the festival, Kiichiro learns that if he doesn't allow the CM from his agency to win the grand prize then he will be fired. Directors from all over the world are gathered at the festival and the judges work within a hotel that is completely closed off. The directors scheme and bargain to make their agency win the grand prize.

Yeon Joo, who is judging short films at a film festival, is embarrassed when she sees Seon Min's film based on the same story as her screenplay. She calls Seon Min and tries to find out the whole story, but Seon Min's explanation was that she just wrote what she experienced and Yeon Joo's stance that she cannot believe it only made the situation tense. In order to reveal what happened to Seon Min, the two head to Gyeongju to meet the visually impaired couple who appeared in the movie. There, you will watch the reading play written by a visually impaired person. As their second destination, they head to Woljeongsa Temple on Odaesan Mountain in Gangneung, which appears in the background of Seon Min's movie. After meeting the monk, both Yeon Joo and Seon Min learn that they have a connection to the monk, but their misunderstanding is not easily resolved. The two break up, and Yeon Joo visits Director Kim, the male protagonist in the movie.

In ancient Rome, bathhouse architect Lucius (Hiroshi Abe) becomes famous with designing the original "thermae" (bathhouse). He receives an order to build a thermae in the colosseum to help gladiators recover from their wounds, but faces difficulties. Thus, Lucius travels again to modern day Japan through the time slip. He meets Manami (Aya Ueto) again, who is now a reporter for a magazine which covers bathroom. With the help of the flat face Japanese tribe, Lucius again designs a new thermae. Meanwhile, Emperor Hadrian (Masachika Ichimura) wants to keep the peace with the thermae, but the Senate wants to extend the land by using force. Emperor Hadrian and the Senate now have a confrontation and Rome becomes divided. 1. Filming began April 6, 2013. Shooting will take place at Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria, Cinecittà film studio in Rome, Italy, and a hot spring in Japan. "Thermae Romae II" is thought to be the first Japanese film to shoot in Bulgaria. An estimated 5,000 foreign extras are participating in the filming of "Thermae Romae II" in Bulgaria.
